Outline and Lesson Goal
Introduction: Day of the LORD Summary
Comparison: 7 Seals; 7 Trumpets; 7 Bowls
The Bowls of Wrath and the 10 Plagues on Egypt
Principles and Applications
II. Wrath Dispensed: Judgment Poured Out (
Principle: Before the Arrival of God’s Day of Wrath there is still time to Repent.
Application: How are you challenged or convicted knowing that God gives sinners every opportunity to repent and yet, many refuse to do so?
Scripture Reference
7 But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly people.8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.2 Peter
III. Epilogue of Wrath: Judgment Consummated (
Principle: God’s Day of Wrath on Unrepentant Sinners is Justified.
Application: Who needs to hear from you about the severity and certainty of God’s judgment? Who needs to know that there is still time to repent and turn to Jesus?
Scripture Reference
6 For after all it is only right for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted, along with us, when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels8 in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God, and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.9 These people will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,II Thessalonians
