This is the long-form version of my conversation with comedian Joe DeRosa. We go deep on comedy, relationships, society, mental health, virtual reality and more....then he gives us the nitty gritty about the process of creating his amazing sandwich shop in Manhattan called Joey Rose's. Since stand-up comedy is not possible at this time, he was given an opportunity from the owner of The Stand, a comedy club and restaurant near Union Square Park, to turn his love of sandwiches into an affordable $8 option for lunch. Joe walks us through the entire process from ideation to today, and of course, we had lots of laughs.
Joe got his start in comedy in Philadelphia many years ago when I used to be funnier than him, and has appeared on Comedy Central, Better Call Saul, and has written and directed numerous projects. When there isn't a pandemic, he is a touring stand-up comedian who has performed with the likes of Bill Burr and many other top-notch performers. www.joederosainfo.com
