Part one of me nerding out over one of the great travellers of history you may not have heard about. For thirty years in the 1300s, Tangier's most famous son Ibn Battuta travelled over 73,000 miles across the medieval world. In these episodes I pick a few of my favourite stores from the book he wrote after returning to Morocco and talk to Mat about life and travel in the medieval era.The translation of Ibn Battuta's book that I used can be found here.https://archive.org/details/travels-of-ibn-battuta/The%20Travels%20of%20Ibn%20Battuta-1325%E2%80%931354-Volume-III/ Pictures of the man himself, along with a very cool Ibn Battuta shirt I picked in in Tangier can be found on our Twitter @allpointscast (stop smirking, it is a cool shirt). If you want to get in touch with us then you can do that via the above twitter or by email [email protected]Part 2 will be coming out on the 26th April.Intro music - Scott Holmes "Travel Forever"CC BY-NC-ND 4.0freemusicarchive.org/music/independ…lmes-singles-1
