Shapers are often referred to as artists or craftsmen. Both would be accurate. A shaper is in every sense of the word a creator as well.. Not just of an object, but of an emotion, as after all, what other inanimate object can bring the joy of a well crafted surfboard. Matty Raynor is a master at that craft. But calling him a artist, hell even a master craftsman would be a very limiting description of this modern day renaissance man.
