Vancouver designer Ou Ma was born in Beijing, attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and worked for iconic fashion houses Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren before moving to Canada and launching her own innovative bridal wear label. OUMA the brand launched in 2017 and Ou’s vision was to create a contemporary, artistic fashion brand. OUMA’s brand ethos according to Ou: “An OUMA wedding dress is a moment for brides to finally see themselves in their highest light and empowered state in the unique way which they individually choose.” Ou is an inspiring female entrepreneur and ahead of International Women’s Day, I chat with her about all things OUMA and how she is shaking up the wedding space, but also giving back to her community with her fashionable work.
