Gavin chats to the National spokesperson of LIMUSA Mr. Dlozi Matooane. At the 2018 Mining Indaba kicks in Cape Town issues of health and safety in the mining industry were prioritized. With increasing reports of mining incidents, one wonders what needs to be done to avoid or prevent all the safety issues crippling the mining industry. Mr. Dlozi narrates the current situation of Health, Safety and Environmental Quality in the South African Mining industry, highlighting what is lacking and what should be done. He also accuses some mining companies such as Sibanye Gold etc of neglecting and downplaying the issue of workers' safety in the mine sites. We also spoke about the National Health Insurance Insurance Framework that's currently in the implementation stage.
