Recording outside or inside with background noise can bring challenges. Sometimes recording outside can add to the ambiance of the podcast but in this example, Sandra will be showing how removing background noise and wind noise can make the podcast easier to understand and helps the listener connect to the content.
In this episode, Sandra has applied equalization (EQ) and compression, as she does with all of the episodes she edits. With equalization, she is able to reduce the volume of unpleasant sounding frequencies and increase the volume of more pleasant-sounding frequencies. With compression, she is able to make the loud parts quieter and the quiet parts louder. These are just some of the elements that Sandra uses to make your podcast sound professional and natural.
