Time for liberals and progressives, in America and around the world, to stop playing "nice" with the bully!

To honor Indigenous Peoples' Day (fka Columbus Day) I recorded one of my most recently written songs dealing with the mistreatment of the First Nation - "Chippewa Reservation."

As we "race for the cure" to a novel coronavirus, Agent Orange assures us that if re-elected he'll cure childhood cancer, AIDs, etc. Truth is, we are in a "Race for the Cure" - a new global arms race that threatens to "cure" our planet of humanity. In this race, it really won't matter who wins.

Before there was a CIA, there was an Office of Strategic Services, or OSS. And before there was Donald Trump, there was Adolf Hitler. The OSS devoted nearly 200 pages to a psychological profile of Hitler using all available sources of information. You think just because Trump is a reality TV clown that he's not a real threat? You be the judge.

We make a big mistake if we believe that Donald Trump is really in charge. Do you suppose the words he reads on the teleprompter are his own? Trump is the shiny object in the magician's other hand, the clown sent out to distract us while the corporate pickpockets within his administration rob us blind, destroying our democracy and imposing a 21st century form of fascism.

Progressives searching for a winning message in advance of the midterm elections but afraid of sounding too radical and stirring up conservatives are missing the point. The fundamental message - that we have entered into a new era on planet earth, that sustainability and regeneration must replace profit maximization, reckless consumption and suicidal resource depletion and despoliation - is not radical at all. The problem is that we never explain WHY. This podcast is a continuing (though erratic) effort to explain WHY progressivism and liberalism, not conservatism and authoritarianism, define our only sustainable path forward.
