Inspirational
My goal is to be a crusty old NP who just cynically shares wisdom and opinion to everyone younger than me. I can only hope to be as crusty as Dr. Crislip. I raise a beer to you good sir. Even started my own humble podcast.

Great Content
Medicine resident who listens to this podcast on the regular. This podcast differs from others in its category because it is entertaining and the format differs significantly from other medical podcasts. I have been listening to this for over a year and it is unique and spectacular. I have recommended this to many residents, students and attendings.

Snarky, sarcastic, smart
Love it. Great for those of us who can’t ever stop thinking about medicine (humans are so much more disgusting than animals ;) Recently discovered this podcast and mainlining it, very enjoyable.

I love Gobbet o' Pus and Puscasts!
I highly recommend this series of podcasts; Dr. Crislip is a delight to listen to. I use his podcasts to get into a good mood to go to sleep. He throughly enjoys life, delights in the puzzles in his job, and has a wonderful wit. What he learns from each podcast is, of course, very different than what I learn. But, we both learn something. My command of infectious diseases is improving markedly because of his podcasts. Ruth Ann Bertsch MD, PhD, FACP

A terrific and informative podcast
A terrific and informative podcast from an educator and humorist that works as a ID doc in Oregon. It is not easy to make ID diagnostics and treatment fun and entertaining. Mark Crislip is the best. My focus is also ID. Occasionally I need to give a clinical presentation and this podcast always provides the perfect clinical information. Being from Seattle, I must admit that the single area where Mark Crislip is wrong is in the comparisons of Seattle to Portland. Seattle is the best place in the Pacific Northwest (but anyone wanting move to the Northwest, I suggest Portland). I have asked all my staff to listen to Gobbet o’ Pus and included some friends in the introduction to Mark Crislip. This is the best medical podcast that I am aware. I started at #906 and am working backwards, I am at about 460 now. When I have heard them all I will probably listen again. I also enjoy the app (great resource when you need to know that Ceftaroline is a fifth-generation cephalosporin) and not earlier. Puswhisperer II is fun and a good read. It would be good to have titles on the podcasts that describe the indication, for example, which podcasts deal with pneumocystis? Are the podcasts searchable?

Learn and be Entertained
As physicians we have all experienced and appreciate the rare colleague who can make learning entertaining. Super well-researched and just plain highly addictive, meet Dr Mark Crislip...

Where have you been all my life?
(Apparently Portland, Oregon.) Both hilarious and very informative. See, young ones? This is why you wash your hands... and stay away from public pools. In fact, maybe I should just give everyone a bleach shower before they enter my house... Edit: Tempted to remove a star; our glorious narrator is a ducks fan.

Amusing for laymen, too!
Interested laymen, this will be comprehensible to you, too. I love his wit and snark, and agree that animals don't belong in the hospital, which has gotten me in arguments before. Then I point to the citations he provided, and we're all set. Thanks again!

What up with fuodoc?
So I was doodling through the reviews and stumbled into a wet cowflop by someone calling itself fuodoc. Best guess is that fuodoc isn't. Isn't a doctor. Isn't a regular listener. Isn't even giving an honest review based on listening to Gobbet. I'm guessing that fooldoc is a chiropractor or, even worse, a naturopath whose real complaint is with Crislip's work debunking pseudomedical idiocies at SBM and SfSBM. Takes a real tool to poop in the punch bowl of a podcast that examines infectious diseases, their diagnosis and treatment, in the Pacific Northwest because he isn't man or woman enough to throw down in forum where his/her complaints can be examined and debated. Maybe we can start of GoFundMe to buy him/her a backbone.

Shameful waste of talent
Clearly the author of this podcast lacks emotional maturity. He has communication skills which are blunted by his juvenile political rants and foul language. Would not at all suggest this podcast for physicians in training as it solidifies the image of an arrogant, intolerant , obscene verbal bully.

An ID doctor that even a surgeon can appreciate
Yes, I trained in general surgery. I stumbled across A Gobbet o' Pus while looking for medical podcasts during medical school and have been hooked ever since. Dr. Crislip's admissions that even he can't remember everything, as evinced by searching the Googles about an interesting case only to find an article he himself had written previously, makes a newer physician like myself feel more comfortable while facing the firehose of knowledge that medicine is. While much of this doesn't apply to my practice, I still enjoy the humaism in Dr. Crislip's approach to conquering his bugs, one disease at a time. I only wish that sometimes he would paint surgeons in a more favorable light. ;)

All making sense now
Microbiology class is starting to make sense now. These little specimens are very addictive, but i have to limit myself to a dozen or so a day.

Someone please autoclave Mark's neighbor's dogs!
He's trying to rid the world of infectious diseases, it's the least we can do to let this man have some peace and quiet!

I've fallen in love with ID
I'm an Internal Medicine intern and after having an attending casually mention this podcast, I checked it out, and after listening to a few episodes, I was hooked. Such an insightful, informative and entertaining podcast in small bite-size snippets. The content has really turned me on to Infectious Disease and makes me feel like a secret ID specialist lurking around the hospital, gagging at the plethora of Vanco/Zosyn antibiotic regiments I see everywhere I look.

Great Relief
This is such a high yield and enjoyable break from all my too intense EM and critical care casts. I offer my services as spellchecker for your written versions. Thanks, and also, if you are hit by a bus, will someone please podcast your uncast last years of blogging? Can’t wait for 1000 Gobbets.

Great podcast!
As a an infectious disease fellow who is graduating soon, I find these podcasts not only incredibly entertaining, but also amazingly educational. Each is a case presentation followed by a brief review of relevant literature punctuated by sarcasm and nerdy jokes…perfect.

I don't even practice medicine and I'm a huge fan of what Dr. Crislip outputs. Both Puscast and Quackcast are great for anyone in the fields of medicine or health research.

Always witty and makes you smarter
Yes, the world does need more Mark Crislip and yes I am writing this reveiw to feed his ravenous ego, but also because I am thankful that fried foods are now deemed healthy - at least by the pus whisperer.

Love this podcast
This is a highly informative and entertaining podcast! It prompted me to download the infectious disease compendium, which is a fantastic tool for practitioners! Wish I had the privilege to work with Dr Crislip! I see a bright future for nursing career in infectious disease and wound care! Thanks Dr C for helping to solidify my career goals! Keep 'EM coming!

My favorite podcast.
Easily one of the best and most interesting ID podcast available. Short, interesting, and told in the signature Crislip funny style that makes me keep coming back for more.

Brilliant Stuff
And here it is: my long-overdue glowing review for A Gobbet o' Pus. The "bad" news: I only discovered this podcast (and Mark Crislip in general) several months ago after hearing his entertaining Vaccination episode on ERCAST). And now I'm trying to make my way through the backlog of episodes... which is taking quite some time indeed! The good news: Entertaining, informative stuff. I enjoy QuackCast as well but the 3-6 minute Gobbets are much easier to fit into my schedule. Keep up the great work, Dr. Crislip!

So interesting
It took me a while to warm up to this podcast. But once I gave it a few more listens I love it. I love medical science and this man is a wealth of information. I could do with less music interlude between the short podcasts but otherwise very interesting. Maybe I could apply something I've learned from this podcast to my own practice. Listen to this, you are likely to enjoy it!

Great podcasts!
I'm here to feed Dr. Crislip's "ravenous ego" with a "glowing review". Love these podcasts! I listen to them on the way to and from work, have learn a lot. Some of them are not always clinically useful, but taken in the whole, I feel I am miles ahead of where I was in understanding ID. I started with episode 1, and now in the late 200's. Will start on his other podcasts after finishing "Gobbet O Pus".

Digestable for even the lay listener
I'm now working my way back though from episode #1. He can make this English teacher laugh. It makes doing lesson prep a whole lot more amusing. Although someone comment that he is pompus, I don't find him so. I find his "feed my ego" comments to be more "tongue in cheek" than serious. Keep up the good work Dr. Mark!

Can't handle it.
I tried listening for a while, but this guy is too clever and pompous for his own good. There's good information in there, but I can't get past his smug, smarter-than-thou humor.

Fun witty podcast packed with info. I love all the Crislip empire productions! I purchased the ID compendium and find it very helpful. I am a community dermatologist with a strong interest in ID it's a fun and interesting way to keep up. I have not yet taken advantage of the CME but plan to soon. Thanks Dr. Crislip!!!!
