At the heels of the critical success of the 2020 film “Promising Young Woman”, I look back at two IRL high profile cases and other fictional media narratives to discuss r*pe culture and the opposing treatment between the “promising” young man and the promising young woman. I also look at the real-life story of Chanel Miller, FKA Emily Doe, the impact of her victim impact statement, and the importance of knowing your name, your story, and your truth.
