Cardiff v Leeds 2002 with Michael Duberry
When Scott Young pounced to score one of the most famous goals in Cardiff City history, Michael Duberry is right behind him. The former Leeds defender gives Bluebirds legend Nathan Blake and Dan Tyte the story from the other side, his take on what Ninian Park was like as an opposition player on the 6th January 2002. Leeds United came to Cardiff in the third round of the FA Cup sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League, semi-finalists in last season’s Champions League, a court case involving Jonathan Woodgate and Lee Bowyer – in which Duberry was called as a witness- finishing weeks before the game. As well as the giant-killing, Blakes, Dubes and Dan talk the social media blackout, Super League and Michael’s new life with leadership skills company Made Leaders. This week’s top 5s are as eclectic as ever. Check out the A Bit of Swazz playlist on Spotify here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6nHCf3lOx2EHT0QryvJWms. The boys dig into the transfer embargo, team selections, the summer transfer window, u23 stars and the up and coming fixtures. Nath turns the cards over on his former team-mates who were aces with a pack in hand and raises a glass to the early 90s CCDS (Cardiff City Drinking School).Check out the A Bit of Swazz playlist on Spotify here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6nHCf3lOx2EHT0QryvJWms.Subscribe, like, give a 5 star review and share, so more City fans find out about the pod. My City, My Shirt
Cardiff City legend Nathan Blake and Dan Tyte are joined by Yusuf Ismail, the man behind a photography project celebrating Cardiff’s diversity. My City, My Shirt is a collection of portraits of people of colour from across the city wearing Bluebirds shirts, which has seen a mural of one of the shots – a pregnant African lady in colourful headdress and blue City shirt- painted on a wall in the Docks. Yusuf shares the story of the creation of the project, the club’s reaction and how City can engage more fans from ethnic minority communities close to the ground, while Nathan shares his experiences of racism as a player. Nath and Dan dig into Wales’ recent run, look forward to a pivotal time in City’s race for the playoffs and have some fun with the fans’ questions. Nath goes Bob Marley on Top 5 and Dan brings a bit of Stax. Check out the A Bit of Swazz playlist on Spotify here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6nHCf3lOx2EHT0QryvJWms.
