Madeには、建てる、創作する、発明する、作業や努力により何かを製作するという意味があります。

 

1. Made is often followed by with to describe the things that are used to produce something

Madeはwith と一緒に使われる事がよくあります。何かを製作するのに使われた物を表します。

“She made the cake with flour, sugar, cheese and other ingredients.”

彼女は、小麦粉、砂糖、チーズと他の材料でケーキを作った。

 

2. Made is also followed by of to describe the material that forms something.

Made は of と一緒に使うと、何かの素材を表します。

The box is made of wood. [=it is a wood/wooden box; the material used to produce the box was wood]

この箱は木材で出来ている。＝それは木・木材の箱です。その箱を作るのに使われた材料は木材です。

 

3. Made is also followed by from to describe the source of a product

Made は from と一緒に使うと、製品の元を表します。

Cheese is made from milk.

チーズは牛乳から作られている。

 

4. We also make decisions, choices, plans and mistakes.

何かを decisions「決める」、choices「選ぶ」、plans「計画する」、mistakes「間違える」などの単語にも make を使います。

I have a difficult decision to make.

私には下すべき難しい決断がある。

I made a terrible mistake.

私はひどい間違いをしました。
