After being highly jealous of ABC’s Bewitched, CBS commissioned producer Sidney Sheldon to concoct up his own mystical enchantress; and thus I Dream of Jeannie was born. When astronaut Tony Nelson is marooned on a deserted island in the South Pacific, he comes across a curious bottle which happens to be the home of a very sexy Persian-speaking and harem costume wearing female genie; ironically named Jeannie. Eventually Tony is rescued from the island and Jeannie accompanies him back to the mainland, where week-after-week they continuously find themselves mixed up in magical misadventures.
For this episode of A Very Special Podcast, Patrick and Kat chose a late-in-the-series run, “Jeannie’s Beauty Cream”, which is the one where Jeannie whips up some magic mojo to transform Amanda Bellows from some aging hag into some foxy bombshell; naturally (thanks to magic), shenanigans ensue.
