Sad story, but no substance
What happened with the Bic lighter we were told to remember? Compelling at first, but lost steam throughout. When the narrator said the next couple episodes would be boring, I should have stopped there.

Slow
I wanted to like this but there just wasn’t enough content for 6 episodes. It should have been 1, maybe 2 episodes. Also, it’s not that mysterious or interesting.

No resolution
Starts off hopeful but lags soon after. Ends up more of a social injustice soapbox platform with no conclusion

Ernest and thoughtful
Thank you for showing so much sympathy for a life!

Sad story, well done
This poor women was murdered and her existence even to her child today seems of little importance. It’s a sad story of someone that fell through the cracks. Thoughtfully told and well done.

Exceptional storytelling
I really appreciated the thoughtful reporting in this podcast. It is a fascinating, heartbreaking, and ultimately very well told story.

Good Reporting/Boring Story
I would like to hear Times Union and this journalist do a podcast that involves more interesting characters. Not all unsolved murder mysteries are podcast-worthy.

Struggled & gave up.
The host really needs to work on his performance. He sounds like he’s reading a school report he wrote.

Mundane and common and SO important
Too many bad men overwrite the stories of women. I so appreciate this good man giving voice to Karen. Thanks to him and his team!

Phillip Pantuso is great at this.
This pod is a great little jewel of reporting, very nicely read. I hope he makes more podcasts. So great at taking you on that journey of curiosity and dismay that brought him on his own journey down the rabbit hole in the first place.

What happened to Jennifer?
What happened to their daughter? I checked the timeline and her birth is noted but she is never mentioned during the investigation into what happened to Karen?

Binge-worthy!
This reporters care into the actual case was evident throughout the production. I hope Karen may rest in peace. I listened to all episodes in one evening. This would be great for like a car trip. It reminded me of Payne Lindsey’s work on the Tara Grinstead case

Karen
Long drawn out story repeating what little host knew and had no real ending. Waste of time.

Ruined
All the clichés are here: “The victim isn’t just a statistic. She’s a special, special person…” Then the lecture that people of color are disproportionately affected blah blah…Just report the events and save the unoriginal social commentary.

More questions
Very good, sad, Why not enough focus that John knew the property where body discovered? Too much focus on signature.

Fascinating
Incredibly interesting podcast. Wonderfully done! And the host’s voice is perfect for this. Loved this podcast.

Stop with the music!
Interesting enough despite the repetitiveness but I could not get past the constant music on loop in the background.

Great storytelling
Really good podcast. It is hard to listen to the tone deaf boomer interviews, but that's no fault of the podcast.

Loved it
Great storytelling about a compelling and fascinating cold case. Highly recommend!

Really enjoying this podcast- the story is very interesting and it’s well told

Struggling early on
Sound issues make it difficult listening. The host sounds like he is reading a script and every sentence sounds exactly the same. The volume/pitch of all of the voices goes up and down, making it hard to hear without constantly adjusting my device volume. I am going to keep trying, but probably won’t finish it.

Can’t wait to hear the rest
I don’t even really like true crime investigative podcasts but this was fantastic. Really looking forward to hearing more!

Local journalism!
Enchanted by Philip’s voice and thoughtful reporting.

Local Story
This is the first local true crime podcast I’ve listened to and the story comes to life in a way I didn’t expect. I’ve been to that ShopRite. I know where that police department and that development is. I can’t wait for the next episode!
Quirky and compelling
Great story
Some odd long silences where I wasn’t sure if I’d lost the connection. But this is a compelling story and good story telling. Sadly, it’s true.
