I’m so stoked Oaklandside launched this podcast, and then decided to stick with it! It’s much easier for me to keep up with the news via audio than reading, so this has been a real gift. Oaklandside is fantastic: they consistently manage find a balance of hard-nosed reporting on the genuinely challenging parts of Oakland, without treading into the outrage-bating that so much of the media has become. I am so much more informed about my local community than I’ve ever been before - largely due to this podcast. I regularly recommend episodes to friends and neighbors, too. Keep it up, Oaklandside!

I moved to Canada with my spouse years ago but I still really want to keep informed about the local news from my hometown, so this is a must listen for me. I often don’t have a lot of time to read articles on The Oaklandside, but getting to listen to the podcast while going about my errands is so helpful!

I want to be more locally informed but like many, have trouble regularly reading Oaklandside. The podcast has been amazing and I haven’t wanted to miss a single episode.
