What happens when your mailman becomes part of the community?

After 39 years with the Postal Service, including 25 years delivering mail in a Monsey neighborhood, Jim Burk has stories that go far beyond letters and packages.

Jim became the neighborhood’s unofficial “Shabbos goy,” gave kids Yankees and Knicks scores on Saturday mornings, helped families when lights and appliances went out, remembered children by name, and watched those same kids grow up and start families of their own.

Now retired, Jim joins Michael Greenfield on None of Your Business to talk about what he learned from decades of showing up every day, building relationships, saving for the future, and becoming more than just the mailman.

Jim also opens up about retirement, civil service, surviving a heart attack, the lessons he learned from his father, and why he says the people of Monsey were some of the nicest people he could ever imagine.
