In October of 2024, an inebriated 20 year old woman (Jane Doe) was advertised as "free pussy" on a snapchat thread for the Chi Phi fraternity on Cornell's campus. According to her lawsuit, after reporting the incident and providing evidence, her case was never criminally investigated and she was never informed about outcomes beyond a separate Title IX process. This pod reviews that recent lawsuit against fraternity members, the bar who served her when underage, her sorority, and Cornell. Included are statements from her lawyer on how the case was mishandled, articles from campus papers about the school's failures, the history of widely reported sexual abuse at Cornell, and examples of different situations where the university didn't hesitate to expel students.
“We don’t fight for our own happy endings. We fight to say you can’t. We fight for accountability. We fight to establish precedent. We fight because we pray we’ll be the last ones to feel this kind of pain.” - Chanel Miller
