When you're surrounded by your own belongings, it's easy to assume the solution is more storage, a bigger wardrobe, a new bookshelf or even a home renovation. But what if the seemingly obvious answer is the one you've been overlooking?

As you declutter and organise your home, learn to step back and look at your situation with fresh eyes. Are you trying to fit too much into your drawers? Do you really need more space, or do you have more belongings than you need? Could slimline hangers solve your wardrobe problem, or could decluttering your books save you hundreds of dollars on new shelving?

You'll discover how asking simple questions can help you find creative, practical solutions that save you money, reduce the time you spend tidying and make your home easier to maintain. We also explore how reducing the number of toys your children have can mean less mess, quicker pack-ups and more time together.

You'll be challenged to consider whether you already have enough stuff, how much excess you might have, and what happens when new things come into your home.

Just because you own something doesn't mean you need to keep it.

Next time you're stuck, pause and ask: What's the seemingly obvious thing I'm missing? You might find the simplest solution is the one that makes the biggest difference.
