We have reached the end of the Top Dance Songs of 2020 with volume 3 and it is glorious! This final volume has a more laidback feel overall and that's because many of the tracks included in these sets are pop hits that were never intended for the dance floor. Nevertheless, the songs are culturally important and resonate with so many people that it's inevitable the label either commissions official remixes or aspiring DJ/producers remix the tracks for their own sets.



You'd think that with everything on lockdown, there wouldn't be that much great dance club music but far from it. That's not to say that there was as much during the second half of the year but we still had more than enough to fill our typical three-volume year-end series.



If anything positive came out of 2020 — it would be musical styles in popular and dance music have started to give way to more diversity in their offerings. I realize that many of the songs in this series rely heavily on a formulaic Future House sound and the likes of Joel Corry, J Bruus, Colin Jay, Cosmic Dawn, Division 4 & Matt Consola, Ray Isaac, and Charlie Lane have perfected that sound but to their credit — they're serving up dance floor earworms for tracks that otherwise would never get rem...
