你知道言語的力量有多大嗎？「神說有光，就有了光；有水，就有了水」神的言語有如此大的力量，甚至創造了世界，作為子女的我們，其話也必定有蘊含巨大的力量!

在1951年，美國聖詩協會為了隔年的新譯本聖經，曾徵選有關「聖經」的聖詩，而我們這次要介紹的歌曲，便是是曾獲獎為十首佳作之一【神的恩言】 Word of God, Across the Ages。作者是白萊契（Ferdinand Q. Blanchard），他在1876年於美國新澤西州，畢業於耶魯大學，終生侍奉在公理堂牧會。

特別的是，這首歌的曲調，是1797年，一位奧地利伯爵請海頓為「皇帝的聖詩」譜曲，要當做國歌使用，後來被拿來當做該曲的曲調。

海頓（Frez Joseph Haydn）是奧地利最偉大的作曲家，是一位非常虔誠的信徒，海頓作曲之前，必先禱告求神幫助，因此他的作品開頭，都會寫著「奉主聖名」（In Nomine Domini），並且在稿子末端，必定會寫上「願讚美歸於上主」（Laus Deo）。
