Today is a special episode. The Christian Standard magazine has been resourcing churches since it was founded in 1866. It is the principal publication uniting churches in the nondenominational fellowship, including Christian Churches/Churches of Christ. Today we are excited to talk with members of their staff!

Every day millions of Christians leave their homes for the mission field - serving Jesus in schools, small business, hospitals, daycares, factories, corporations, and literal fields, feeding all of us everyday. So, what does it look like to follow Jesus day in day out from 9-5? If Jesus were working alongside us, what would His day consist of? How do we lead in the workplace as a follower of Jesus?

When our kids are little, we take them in for regular check-ups where the doctor tells us how our kids are developing. They ask questions that seek to determine if they are hitting milestones appropriate for their age and growth. On today’s episode, we are going to be asking some of those same questions for our spiritual growth - what are milestones we should be hitting as we grow in a relationship with Jesus and how can we know if we’re growing?

What does it mean to be a man? Is it gun-toting, cowboy hat wearing, toughness? In our culture, as with many things, the lines are ever blurring. So what does it mean to be a Biblical man in 2018? What are non-negotiables and where do we perhaps need to expand our thinking?

With almost half of the world’s population on social media, we ask the question, is social media the new “neighborhood”? Is social media a field or a distraction for us a followers of Jesus? How can we use social media to reach people with the love of Jesus? So, come on, log off of Facebook for 30 minutes and tune into The Current!

This week we talk a look at the story of the Prodigal Son found in Luke 15:11-32. Just like the son in the story, many people experience the love and care of the father, only to try to strike it out on their own. What causes people to walk away? What brings them back?
