About Cindy Burns: I am a widow of 10 years. Other than losing my husband, the hardest part was losing my future, my purpose, and my sense of self. Through coaching, I found myself, my purpose, and my future. My passion is to help other widows going through the same thing.
Main Business Issues:
- Cindy helps people answer the question of ‘what’s next’ after they have overcome their grief but she wasn’t able to make the kind of impact she was looking for
- She was unable to connect to her audience in a way that was relevant
- Growing the number of people in her membership
- Not knowing how to sell to them
Cindy’s Key Insights And Takeaways:
- She was turning away people who were in grief because she believed she wasn’t ready to coach them through their grief
- There was a fear that she wouldn’t be effective enough because of a lack of credentials in grief counseling
- She was discounting her own experience of transcending grief
- There were a lot of narratives of being afraid to be triggered in the grief, needing the permission to help people in grief and throwing up roadblocks to just selling prospects
- These fears and hesitations resulted in patterns where she was turning back people who she could actually help
