Back in Palm Beach, local authorities build what they believe is a solid case against Jeffrey Epstein and they turn it over to the FBI, confident the feds will investigate and prosecute Epstein as the local police feel he deserves. Victims ?from Florida, New York and New Mexico are interviewed by the FBI ?over the course of two years -- and ?they are assured that the wheels of justice are turning. But what eventually happens stuns Palm Beach police and the women who, despite fearing for their safety, opened up old wounds to cooperate with federal investigators. How did the millionaire from Palm Beach, accused of sexually abusing potentially over 30 girls and young women across the country, end up spending just over a year in a local jail cell that allowed to come and go almost as he pleased? Just who was behind the "sweetheart" deal Epstein got, leaving victims both angry and betrayed? And new information from ABC News shows federal investigators knew even more years ago than has been previously reported about allegations against Epstein -- this time, surrounding a 14-year old girl in New York. "Truth and Lies: Jeffrey Epstein" is a co-production of the award-winning ABC News Investigative Unit and ABC Audio, makers of "The Dropout," "A Killing On the Cape," "Have You Seen This Man?," the daily ABC News podcast "Start Here," and more: http://www.abcaudio.com/podcasts

All physicians are taught, “First do no harm.” But what happens when a doctor does harm his patients? Dr. Robert Henderson was a veteran spinal surgeon in Dallas when he got an unusual phone call from a local hospital: a new surgeon had operated so poorly that a patient who’d walked in on her own two feet now couldn’t even wiggle her toes. Dr. Henderson had seen a lot, but he wasn't prepared for this. The surgery was so bad, in fact, he asked himself whether this person possibly be an impostor impersonating a physician? “Death Don’t Have No Mercy” performed by Delaney Davidson and Marlon Williams, courtesy of Rough Diamond Records. For the 100th episode of Criminology, we're tacking two cases of murdered prosecutors that some people may be related. Ray Gricar was a prosecutor in Pennsylvania who was murdered in 2005. Jonathan Luna was a federal prosecutor with the United States Attorney's office in Baltimore, Maryland who was killed in 2003. Both men were found in rural areas of central Pennsylvania. The investigations into both of these murders revealed some very interesting information. But, police have not been able to prosecute a single person for either of the murders. Questions are numerous in both cases. Were these cases connected in any way? Did either of these men have something to hide that ultimately factored into their deaths? Were their deaths related to their jobs as prosecutors who had put a number of really bad people in jail over the years that might want retribution? But the places where Dr. Duntsch operated failed to report him to the proper authorities. If they had, maybe Duntsch’s path of destruction would have been stopped much sooner.
