A great mix of entertainment and analysis. These guys are a must listen for anyone interested in the finer details of NBA gameplay.
I thought this was a good podcast, until I realized THEIR WHOLE SHOW IS JUST COPIED FROM THE OPEN FLOOR PODCAST!!!!
Top tier hardcore basketball analysis podcast. Xs and Os and the big picture. On top of that, they donât overwhelm or surprise you with ads.
Danny and Nate skip the NBA melodrama and focus solely on the strategic aspects of the game, both on the court and in the front office. The most informative daily pod out there.
So Iâve always been a listener but I feel like this year the quality has really taken a turn for the worse. Half the time when teams are discussed Iâm pretty sure the only thing being looked at is the box score. Not to mention the hate for some players on the last few episodes have been hot garbage. I might subscribe again after the finals but please for the love of god stop reading box scores and giving a take like you watched the game.
You probably wonât find another NBA podcast with more information & detailed analysis. They are the opposite of your typical hot take talking heads. Most of their opinions are backed with analytics & advanced stats. They discuss all teams, but this is especially true for their 15 in 60 shows (dedicated to discussing each team in a conference during a single show).Sometimes they get a little long winded. This is exacerbated by their tendency to spend long stretches of conversations referencing "he" & "him" instead of the specific player/coach/etc. You can lose track of the topic if youâre not fully concentrating on the show! They also occasionally have issues with the audio, with their separate vocal feeds overlapping each other. Despite the listening difficulties this provides, itâs almost an endearing quality. You know theyâre probably producing this themselves & that they arenât part of a bigger machine. This is probably a labor of love for them.Overall itâs a worthwhile listen if you prefer NBA analysis without the bluster & hot takes.
I've been searching for a serious sports podcast that does in-depth analysis. This is it!!! No small talk, no hot takes, this is a podcast for the smart fan. The best!
Amazing pod but his voice is so boring itâs not even funny
You guys did not mention a move that the thunder make to obtain a rotation wing!
Bereft of insight and entertainment
Great job Nate having Chris on your podcast. He is very insightful and has great knowledge as well on what is going on in the league. Enjoy your style of podcasting and breaking everything down including salary cap ramifications.
Nate and Danny are experts in their field and are not afraid to have bold takes that other âexpertsâ shy away from. These guys are the real deal.
If you love the NBA and want to get a statistically focused analysis of both teams and players this is the show for you
I was at a bar in San Fran once and over heard Nate Duncan calling a gay man a f**got. Donât support this podcast
Nate & Danny sleep 2 hrs a night to make sure you donât miss the most minuscule minutia regarding the player /team analytics and economics of the NBA and related news. These guys are most busy yet still accessible. They Rock .
I feel bad for Danny bc you interrupt people constantly. Sometimes we would like to finish other people their point before you talk over them. Its a basic respect issue! Sometimes i literally canât hear what the other person was saying because you jump in. It makes the podcast crap. Have some respect, PLEASE.
This podcast produces alot of weekly content, but one of the hosts talks over and down to the other too often. It has potential, I hope their chemistry improves.
The content on this podcast is great, really insightful NBA analysis and they really put in the work. Very statistic heavy and love the game strategy and breakdowns.Recently, Iâm not sure what has happened but there is an insane amount of ad reads. Seems like there is a 2min ad every 5 minutes. Iâm not sure if they just accept any sort of ad revenue that comes there way and normally ad reads donât bother me on podcasts but this podcast has so many. I would definitely recommend cutting down the amount of ads, ideally just have an ad at the beginning and end.
Super rigid and unremarkable show, while using a plethora of data as a guise of actually giving real analysis or interesting views. Part of this rating is how thin skinned they are on Twitter if someone dares to challenge their views.
Itâs obvious he doesnât like to be interrupted by how he talks. He talks like a never ending run-on sentence. This podcast would be so much more enjoyable if Nate wouldnât talk like that. Itâs annoying.
This is my goto for in depth NBA analysis.
Dunkâd On is by far the most substantive NBA podcast Iâve encountered. Itâs my most trusted resource for cap space analysis, free agency and trade evaluations, player development discussion, and NBA news updates. The show may not be flashy, but it deals with the details of the NBA more rigorously and insightfully than most others on the NBA podcast market. Nate and Danny have good chemistry as co-hosts, and they each clearly approach each podcast with a level of research and expertise that is hard to match. I highly recommend this podcast to any studious fan of the NBA, looking for content with substance.
They advertise more than most other podcasts, but I donât even care. If I had the money, Iâd subscribe to their Patreon, but since I donât, I try to use the capspace code whenever I can.
Great podcast! Guys do a great job of breaking down games, and giving some in depth information about teams and players! Any NBA fan should have this on their list!
Nate and Danny are the best! If youâre a big fan of the NBA minutia and all of the nitty gritty details from cap management to Xâs and Oâs, this is the podcast for you.
There was a time when this podcast was all that was available for nerds and served a purpose, but these days guys have caught up and surpassed the content in Duncâd on. This is still the best podcast for anything cap-related, however they have really lost it with their analysis of team-management, team projections, and player evaluation. What makes it worse is that a good portion of their podcasts are dedicated to aggressively defending their opinions right or wrong.
The only NBA Podcast I listen to. More of a football / baseball guy, wish both sports did pod formats like Duncanâs. The mock offseason was really cool and gives in-depth view of the crazy nba salary cap.
These guys definitely know their stuff, this isnât a question of content or basketball knowledge. But theyâve producing podcasts long enough to know they need to improve their production quality. In terms of audio and structure. If youâre doing a podcast about over/unders, how hard is it to start with the line at the top of each segment? So disorganized and rambling.
Great podcast for cap geeks, basketball analysis wannabes or just general fans of the game. Itâs a great place to get news on the action around the league, from guys who actually know what they are talking about. I havenât found a source of basketball content I love as much as Duncâd on. They shine especially bright during the off-season and I wouldnât recommend anyone, but Nate and Danny if you wanna learn and understand all the super cool little details involving cap space, MLEâs, etc. Best part of the show is the mock offseason!
Please give up ESPN hot takes & listen & learn basketball. Thank You so much.
Excellent podcast, i have learned so much about the NBA from this. People will call it humorless, but Nate's cutting jokes at the expense of stupid decisions teams make really crack me up.
these dudes have great voices. is this what asmr means
I love this podcast, but STOP INTERRUPTING YOUR GUESTS! Itâs killing me to hear the guest speak then have Nate talk over them and finish his thought before the guest does.
This pains me to say, because it used to be my favorite basketball podcast and they do the hard work but Nate and Danny have become insufferable and borderline impossible to listen to. They are so negative about everything, every coach/gm is an idiot, every team stinks, etc...They talk about every teams strategy like its nba2k and each team has every available option. It just stinks that they have become so arrogant on their approach to the NBA. I really hope they turn it around because I will miss this podcast.
This is truly great, wonderful analysis. The mock offseason and mock trade deadline shows are the best.
Iâve been listening to this podcast for over 2 years and Nate and Danny have great insight and analysis on the NBA and I love there off-season analysis the most. Every time there is a big trade or signing (or even minor stuff) Iâm excited to hear their take on it. I have always been a fan of the NBA but mostly from January through the end of the Finals. Listening to this Podcast has made me an all year long NBA fan! The NBA season never stops! Great Pod!
The first Duncâd on podcast I listened to was this yearâs mock offseason and now I canât stop listening. Nate and Co. give great insight on each and every move that happens around the NBA no matter how big the move is. For a die-hard NBA guy like myself, itâs cool to see the ramifications of a move on the teamâs salary cap, depth chart, and then just their opinion on the matter. Overall great listen and would recommend to anyone that loves the NBA.
These guys are both great. It took me a minute to understand their interesting dynamic (along with cap terminology), but now I cannot live without their pod. Best daily basketball pod. No side tangents or bull stuff.
They know their stuff!
In my opinion, you guys are the best podcast out there to listen to. Even when the NBA gets boring at times, you always find ways to entertain us. I also love the lengthyness of your episodes. I listen to you on long runs and with podcasts like âThe Startersâ or âThe Jumpâ 22 minute episodes just donât work for me. Your episodes are always at least an hour and you never lose focus on what youâre trying to say and always always always keep things interesting and unique. You are unlike any other podcast out there and please keep up the good work.
Amazing podcast. So impressed by the way you guys have developed and gotten better over the past couple years. Please include definitions now and then to remind/explain to us the complicated details of various contract things, e.g mid-level exception. It is easy as a non-basketball professional to get mixed up or forget the terms!
I have learned so much from Nate and Danny. They cover every part of the nba and bring in every analytical and advanced way of looking at it. All round great listen for any rue fan of the NBA and basketball in general.
Love this podcast but dayum Dunc stop doing that high pitched voice for 20 seconds in a row. It makes me cringe too hard man... great listen though
I like some nonsense now and then with my basketball info but these guys add a lot of concise knowledge w/o the nonsense. A great compliment to Bill Simmons, Woj, Lowe etc.
Nate and Danny have something special going on. At the pivotal times of the calendar (season previews, trade deadline, playoffs, draft, free agency), they are my #1 podcast.
Nate and Danny provide detailed breakdowns of the NBA as a whole nearly every day, year round. I would reccomend it to anyone who enjoys Basketball Analyticis, but also would like to learn about NBA free agency / cap stuff and player evaluation.
I have been listening religiously for 2 years now, they never fail to provide thoughtful and in depth analysis of the league.
Podcast is essential listening for smart NBA fans. Great mix of Xs and Os and statistics that you don't get in most places.
