Love this podcast. Started from the beginning about a month before the AYITL released and now a year later I have a handful of eps left. While it can get long I love the in-depth looks into my favorite tv series that I have watched multiple times. They made me realize I only like season 6 Jess for Rory and that she deserves better. And the Dean treatment! Sad! Haha.
Longtime fan. Have listened to every episode. Twice if not more. Kevin and Demi feel like my close friends, and it was so fun to see them evolve as hosts, friends, and individuals throughout the course of the show. PS- the parts where they talk about the girls are good too. But thatâs not why anyone listens.
This is my favorite podcast ever. Even if you havenât seen Gilmore Girls you should listen to this. These guys are so hilarious and creative and down to earth. My biggest regret in life is not making it to one of their live shows. ð Hereâs to hoping for a reunion!
The only thing wrong with this podcast is that Iâm not on it with you. ð Loving it!
This is a great podcast! So funny and entertaining!
Love these guys...only a 4 because they stay up topic quite a bit and it's probably funny if you're in the room with them but it just gets really annoying when you want to hear them talk about Gilmore girls I spent 15 minutes talking about something else.
I am so glad Lauren Graham mentioned this podcast in her book. I binge-watched the entire series when I was pregnant with my son, and have been a fan ever since. I was a year behind Rory in high school and college so a lot of it is nostalgia although I donât get many of the pop-culture refs. I love listening to this podcast on my way home. Would have given 4.5 but lucky for them they get the benefit of rounding since I canât do a half star. Marked down for calling Dooseyâs by the wrong pronunciation ð. â¤ï¸
Just figured out podcasts and this is the first and possibly only one I'll get into. I'm a 26 year old girl for context incidentally.I've been a fan of GG since it first released and it's so fun and refreshing to continue the discussion on this fantastic show and get all kinds of perspectives on it. These guys are hilarious, I'll definitely be following all you do!
Big fan of the Gilmoreguys
i love this podcast! i think you are both wonderful & hilarious. iâm on season 6 of both gilmore girls & guys, and i cant wait to see what you both do next (spoiler i love good christian fun)!
10 out of 10 final four words ðð»
Great podcast for Gilmore fans.
I watched GG in real time, anxiously awaiting Tuesday nights on the WB, frog and all. It's long been my favorite show and a commonality among my best girl friends. So when I heard there was a podcast dedicated to my obsession, I was IN. I was hesitant at first, really skeptical of how two men younger than I were going to not only keep my interest, but maybe share insights I hadn't already discussed with my besties. Thankfully, they are charming, delightful, and self-loathing - right up my alley. Now I'm caught up on the podcast, and it has been such a wonderful journey with these "dummies.â I am relieved to say I am just as obsessed with the Hollowcast as I am with GG. I also stalk Kevin and Demi on the reg. So yeah, big fan.
Gilmore Girls has always gotten me through hard times and this podcast has done the same for me this year. So grateful for the time and effort Kevin and Demi put in to these episodes, because they've brightened some really dark days. I still love going back to listen and just wanted to share my appreciation for such a quality podcast!!
I love this show and laugh all the time
I had heard of this podcast but never really considered it much. I thought, "I have already seen every episode of Gilmore Girls 10 times, what could make it more interesting?" THIS PODCAST. I listened to a more recent episode and decided I needed to start from the top. And although somewhat raw, even the first episode is hilarious and interesting! When I think of the episodes of Gilmore Girls, I wait in excitement to see how Kevin and Demi will reveal aspects of the show I never even considered. A super fan and a fresh perspective presenting the episode and delving into pop culture, subtle nuances and even technical knowledge makes this fascinating for me! Favorite segment of the show is "pop goes the culture!" I love their material and the chemistry between the hosts. This is fantastic! I listen to this podcast on my commute and it's like I'm "watching" Gilmore Girls episodes with commentary. You all have made a great podcast!!!
Love Gilmore girls and it was so fun to rewatch and listen to these episodes. Thanks Guys!
I turned my wife onto the show through Netflix and I'll tell her about Gilmore Guys. This show is hilarious. Makes me want to step up my game on my podcast. Great job.
At one foolish point I tried to start this series from the pizza party episode because that was the most current episode out when I first heard of it. I strongly recommend that everyone start at the beginning and evolve along with the podcast. You can't jump into that nonsense. I almost missed out on a great experience because trying to step in there was very off putting. You need to get to know the hosts and their guests and the inside jokes and bits and go along for the journey with them. You have to work your way up to 3+ hour episodes! And when you do it will all be worth it! At least it was for me. I can't give you your time back if it turns out it didn't work for you.
I love love love this podcast, however I was dissapointed when I listened to the "Winter" episode and had the final three words of the show and finale to the series spoiled for me. Be careful!
I wish the guys would get together every so often for mailbags or something. Maybe Kevin's new podcast will do the trick
I wish I discovered this when it was still on. I've watched Gilmore Girls way more than a handful of times and it's been a true love of mine for awhile. I'm so happy I found this podcast to listen to and it's quite a joy. I find myself laughing way too hard and having my coworkers ask if I'm okay. These guys are hilarious and if you haven't listened, please do. Give them a chance. It's a bit rough at first but it's pure gold later on.
I'm late to the party and probably one of your oldest listeners, but I love this podcast!! Thanks, Kevin and Demi!!
Not sure what to do now without my Gilmore Guys fix. This show kept me laughing for the 6 months of binging that it took me to get through it. Demi and Kevin now feel like friends that I went on a journey with. How crazy it was to listen to them grow into a phenomena. I hope they work together in the future, they've got a permanent fan in me! It's a comedy podcast with a great mix of commentary, and the cast and crew (the gabs) interviews are amazing!
Seriously, it's the best ever.
Its so so funny, omg i enjoy these podcasts so much. There is so much randomness and references that i dont even understand but i love it!!
He walks in & he's just Christopher. I LOVE this podcast!!! Kevin & Demi crack me up w/their banter & cute jingles. So awesome how Melissa McCarthy shows up so much, just to say hello. From the Fashion Reports to Pop Goes the Culture & at the end random picks of review ratings, it's great! Five out of Five CDs hidden in Lanes Floorboards from me for sure!!!
Hosts have great chemistry! Sometimes I just want to zone out and listen to a podcast about an old tv show hosted by two sweet men when I'm cleaning.
Thank you guys for the hours of entertainment and heart over the past few years! It's very bittersweet it's done but for new listeners I would highly recommend listening to Gilmore Guys whether you've seen Gilmore Girls or not.
Yes, as the title explains, this is the first podcast I have EVER listened to! I can't explain how addicted I am to listening to Gilmore Guys. I am only on Episode 211 (btw, I am SO glad Ben Siemon came back for another episode) & it brings me such joy to know there are so many more to listen to. Love you guys!
I just finished the last episode with Lauren graham! ð I loved it so much! Best podcast ever, the closing lala's ð¶ were perfect and it broke my heart â¥ï¸â¥ï¸â¥ï¸
It was a pure joy to listen to Demi and Kevin chat about Gilmore Girls, Bunheads, the entertainment industry, single-handedly reviving a WB/CW classic (ok fine Scott Patterson was involved, whatever), romancing Emily Gilmore, and tracing dicks. I recommend this podcast to anyone who watches Gilmore Girls, as well as anyone who breathes. I'm literally going to thank them when I present my food science master's thesis this fall. I laughed, I cried, I tried to apply economic theory to Stars Hollow and failed. I'll miss you guys. RIP (but they're not dead so watch The Good Place on NBC).
Do we want GilLESS? No, we want GilMore!
I grew up watching the first few seasons of GG every week on the WB (sort of fell out of step when Rory went to college). It's been so fun revisiting the show accompanied with this podcast and their commentary. I can't express how much these guys have meant to me. My sister and I are very different, have little in common, but have found a shared joy in re-watching GG and listening to this podcast. We actually went to one of their live shows together and it's one of my favorite memories. As their podcast winds down, it's something I'm going to miss so much. Kevin and Demi are sharp, hysterical, devoted, great talkers and very creative. If you're a Gilmore Girls fan this podcast is a must listen, and if you're not, give it a try maybe you'll discover the charm of a small town in Connecticut and fall in love with all its wacky inhabitants, led by of course their queens, the Gilmore Girls.
These guys are the absolute worst. They babble on for hours about nothing. They're probably smart but they miss so many references and there are so many things they talk about but clearly don't understand. Love Gilmore Girls. Wanted to love the podcast. Didn't.
Kevin and Demi made me love podcasts. They are so funny and entertaining. I love their conversations and their improv and singing and different segments. They are fantastic performers too! Got to see them in Seattle and it was amazing.
I love these guys and their enthusiasm. The guest quality has increased exponentially. I just wish they'd attempt to reel in the rambling. 2 hours is a max for my attention span, and some episodes hit close to 4 hours. That's insane. Kevin is my favorite, but please stop gasping before the fashion report!!! It makes me anxious. I rip my earbuds out every time and it's always too late.
can't do better than this
Kevin and Demi are insightful and hilarious
I tried to listen to their episodes about Bunheads, but after listening to the first one for 45 minutes they had barely talked about the show at all. I wish there were a supercut of these podcasts to just listen to the on-topic parts. YMMV of course, but after 45 mins of rambling I saw that the podcast still had nearly 3 hours (!) left and I gave up. :\
I love listening to this podcast while studying for finals⦠makes me laugh and eases my school worries. Thank you, Kevin and Demi :)
I rate this podcast 10/10 nice chickens
I don't even watch bunheads (I tried) but I listen because you guys are so entertaining and I'd rather hear your interpretation of the episode. The way you guys feed off each other is amazing - Also I love hearing what you guys are listening to/reading! I found a lot of other great podcasts because of you. â¤ï¸â¤ï¸
I'm currently listening to your season 2 episode 2 episode. I didn't know this was a podcast so I'm listening a couple years after the fact. I keep listening because I'm still not sure if I like it or not. I am a HUGE Gilmore Girls fan and there's only 2 things that have bugged me and made me almost stop listening...1...it's so annoying that "oh (insert celeb name here) said they were coming but didn't because XYZ" in EVERY FREAKIN EPISODE...no bueno!2...I'm not offended by it but it's just so ridiculous how hung up y'all are on if Michel is black...like seriously...too many episodes spent addressing it.
To be completely honest, I don't know if I can recommend this podcast to people. Some of the guests are fantastic, some of them are barely tolerable (and show up multiple times). There are some very interesting observations and conversations, but they are often overshadowed or diluted by two hosts who aren't entirely compelling when they're riffing with each other, and don't seem to realize when they're overindulging. They spoil nearly everything popular in pop culture (and some episodes spoil later eps of GG, but usually because a guest screws up) to the point where I had to pull my headphones out multiple times. The live show episodes are PAINFUL. You'll probably read a lot about their singing in these reviews, and that's because they sing too much. Like, they'll sometimes just keep singing songs that aren't related to the episode, I think because they'd rather be doing that than coming up with something funny or interesting to say. They were doing a lot freestyling in the first season or two, which never was as fun as I think they found it to be.Their verbal tics get very tiring over the course of all of these episodes, which maybe is inevitable, but just kept highlighting how ill-fitting they tended to be as hosts. "Weird" gets used entirely too much, until it gets replaced with "Truly". "It's been" has like 50 episodes and then sassy "Okai!" takes over until it becomes the opening cry from Circle of Life (Lion King), which feels slightly racist in its use (and re-use, and re-use). The majority of the episodes are over 2 hours, which becomes unconscienable as you listen to it and hear them indulging the most boring of topics. Wanna know what isn't fun? Anyone's tight 20-30 minutes on Chili's! Especially when other, more structured podcasts cover that territory. And finally, it's just rough sometimes to listen to people in their early to mid 20's talk about a lot of things, especially when their life experience just doesn't seem that developed. There are a lot of times where their understanding of human nature, pop culture, the pronunciation of any word that comes from a foreign language (hearing someone say "lee-it motif" for "leitmotif" is like nails on a chalkboard), proper use of common phrases and idioms, and critical discussion fall woefully short. This isn't meant to be a knock on them for not being perfect human beings, but in my book it makes them sort of less than qualified to spend hundreds of hours hosting a show and discussing an artistic work. There are just people out there who are better at it (and some of them are guests on the show, which is super refreshing to hear!). In short, I don't begrudge these guys their success, and I'm glad they were able to fashion a sort of career out of it. I just kind of wish that while focusing on producing live shows and making terrible one-off squarespace joke sites and coming up with merch to sell, they also would have evaluated their performances and worked to improve them. Things got better from the first season's episodes, but then they got a lot worse, and longer, and I think their success encouraged them to stop caring about tightening up and honing their game. I'm a little incredulous of the fan base who kept finding them HILARIOUS, but then I also was never 100% all-in on Gilmore Girls, so maybe this just isn't my thing. Thanks for accompanying me on my runs and commute, but I think once I finish the GG: YITL eps I'm going to go my separate way.
Love the podcast! So funny!
I would listen to the Gilmore Guys talk about anything!
