Steamboats are an ensemble of picker-singer-songwriters who combine reverence for the American vocal group with an introspective sensibility all their own. Through years of gospel and acapella, singers Nick Throop, Mario Rincon and Jon Jaffee have honed their singing, their soaring harmonies choreographed around a single microphone during live performances. Bassist Patrick Murphy is percussive and melodic, supporting rotating arrangements of guitar, mandolin, banjo, and dobro. Steamboats are back from their record release tour and will be kicking off a monthly residency at Cupping Room Cafe in NYC.
