Toda raba! My motherâs family speaks Hebrew and I was raised speaking with them partly in the language. My Hebrew is very basic and conversational, so this adds a dimension of grammar and expands my vocabulary. Thank you!
Like having my cousins clue me so I stop talking Hebrew like my elderly relatives :) with great links to music!
Thank you, Guy! Streetwise Hebrew is helping me improve my Hebrew, and I never get tired of listening to your episodes. Each one has interesting bits of culture, music and entertaining stories.
A standout among language learning apps/podcasts. This show is so well thought out and put together to efficiently provide a fun blend of Hebrew language instruction and tid-bits about Israeli culture/politics. The format and vocabulary is flexible so that it is doable for beginners. I can hear Guy's love for language and teaching. Great job!
This podcast is simply fantastic. Itâs a great way to learn some Hebrew - not just the formal language from books or school, but the way Israelis speak in modern Israel.
Guy, where were you when I was struggling in college? ð LOVE this podcast!!
Love this!!! Am just now discovering podcasts and stumbled on SWH. Iâve been binging past few days in anticipation of Israel visit next week. Hope to join your T.A. Street Tour. Paul
I love this podcast. In my car, itâs as if Guy is teaching/tutoring me personally! Iâve learned so much about Israel and linguistics and - of course - HEBREW. He provides just the right amount of stuff at my level as well as tantalizing content to help me stretch my Hebrew skills as well. Iâm a full-time student or I would happily donate! I also love the Israeli music! Love it!
I am learning Hebrew right now using an Online Ulpan so I like to immerse myself into the Hebrew language at any opportunity. I use this podcast, music, videos, movies and TV from streaming services to support me. Thank you for this fun way to keep learning.
Terrific podcast - even proficient speakers will learn something.
I lived in Jerusalem a LONG time ago and have fairly recently wanted to refresh and improve my spoken Hebrew. Guy does a great job of teaching and each lesson is relevant. My only small gripe? I know it must take a lot of effort to produce, but I would love longer segments. ×ª× ×× ×¢××!

As someone who lived in Israel for many years, but now lives abroad, I love to stay connected to the ever evolving Hebrew. I also share with my students who love it.
Real life applications in an easily digestible, entertaining, and friendly form.Guy is a great teacher.I have become addicted to SWH!
Wonderful for those who spent way too much time in formal Hebrew Schools in Galut!
Guy Sharret, you are a genius. My love for Hebrew has been increased immeasurably by your fantastic command of the language, it's grammatical structure, and it's growth and development into the modern age. Blessings to you and yours, and your entire production team for a Shana Tova u'mevorechet!Ernest KatzLos Angeles
I learned Hebrew in the streets of Israel when visiting my family in Israel from the US throughout my childhood. This podcast actually explains to me whatâs behind the slang and upgrades my grammar and vocabulary. Thank you!

I started listening to Streetwise Hebrew while exercising, and enjoyed it so much that I ended up exercising more!!! Each episode is organized in a really intuitive way, designed to help listeners learn practical Hebrew phrases and use them in everyday life. Each episode focuses on an interesting topic and integrates musical, cultural, and historical references in an entertaining and memorable way! They are each short enough to easily fit into daily life and are fun to listen to for a quick dose of Hebrew anytime. Kol HaKavod!
Great podcast for improving your Hebrew and Guy, the host, is very entertaining and enthusiastic
Guy is a brilliant linguist and manages to pack in tons of information on culture and current events in SWH on top of excellent Hebrew instruction.. Although it is short, this podcast packs a big punch. Guy is charming. witty, and patient.
I always enjoy. Canât wait till Shanghai.
I very much enjoy this podcast. It helps me keep up with the Hebrew I learned when I lived in Israel. Guy makes the information very accessible and it is fun to listen to the spoken and musical examples of word usage. ת××× ×¨××
Extremely entertaining and informative way to learn relevant and useful Hebrew.
I canât thank Guy enough for this amazing podcast. He brings the Hebrew language to life making it fun to learn and gain appreciation of what is happening in Israel itself. Very worthwhile to also become a Patreon sponsor to support this podcast. Thanks!!!!
Guy is the kind of Hebrew teacher I never had. The podcasts are engaging, entertaining and enrich my Hebrew knowledge many-fold.I look forward to each and every podcast, save and get more out of every one with every replay.
I love this podcast!!! I learn so many phrases that one cannot find in an ordinary dictionary, and great musical clips as well.
Simply stellar! Exactly what Iâve been looking for and couldnât find anywhere. I love the deconstructing of the word in focus, its multiple permutations, spoken language examples, grammar discourses, translation of the song lyrics, even connections to Arabic and Yiddish. Love the dual language episodes. Just brilliant!
Its just so easy, and i am seeing new ways to use words i am already familiar with. Should be required reading for jewish day schools.
This is really worth supporting with a few dollars a month. I am a reasonably advanced speaker or Hebrew and it is a pure pleasure to approach the language through the genius of Guy and his team. I subscribe through Patreon and receive some very useful additional materials.
Guy Sharett is a treasure! I love this podcast! Most helpful tool towards improving my Hebrew! If thereâs any way I can directly support this podcast by US $ paid directly by check please advise!×× ×××××!
A great resource for conversational Hebrew. As someone who's always felt like he's in recovery from years of Hebrew School himself, this podcast has been great at helping me sound less like the textbooks that I studied as a child, and more like a normal person when I'm conversing. Guy makes each quick lesson fun and educational all at the same time.
Guy's podcast is amazing ... Really fun to listen to. I learn language, music and culture. Todah rabah Guy.
SWH is fantastic! I listen with my daughter and I support the podcast on Patreon so we can listen to the Hebrew version as well. Guy prepares a thoughtful and informative podcast every time. Thank you!
This podcast is such a great little resource to supplement my Hebrew learning. The episodes are short and focused, and I just love the music the accompanies each episode!
So good. Very complete. Very up to date to real life vocabulary.
Always interesting and fun.
Been enjoying this podcast ever since I moved to Israel. Not only does it teach me many words and expressions, but I've learned so much about Israeli culture and history.
These short podcasts provide a terrific insight into modern Hebrew usage and Israeli culture. The âlessonsâ are enhanced with enjoyable audio clips of songs, radio and TV.
If you want to learn hebrew in a creative and enjoyable way, this is the answer. Instead of drilling verbs and vocabulary one can absorb the language as if one is living in Israel. Guy teaches the language with intelligence and precision while evincing the latest Israeli cultural experience and phenomenon. A must f or Hebrew Lovers!
The podcast of my dreams. I was looking for a podcast to help improve my Hebrew. The host, Guy Sharett, is a passionate linguist, knowledgeable social and cultural historian and vastly curious. Through this podcast I have reconnected with Hebrew, learned meanings of words in various contexts, learned slang expressions, listened to songs I hadnât heard in years and have been introduced to new songs and videos. I recommend to anyone interested in Hebrew and Israeli culture.
Fun way to learn some new Hebrew or review. Clear and entertaining explanations of expressions and phrases, stemming from a root. I also love the use of music in this podcast as examples of the expressions; turns me on to some great music I havenât heard before.
What a fun way to deepen my familiarity with Hebrew and Israeli life. Guy is a great teacher and the material is ××× ×¢× ××××! Also his tour in TA is awesome too!
Streetwise Hebrew is something of a dream come true for me. Iâve been an intermediate, advanced-intermediate student of Hebrew for a few years now, and Iâve studied it at a high level in an academic context, but I can rarely find anything that touches on all aspects of my love for the language - both the technical aspects of grammar and philology, and the socio-linguistics and âStreetâ nature of the language as a living, breathing phenomenon. That is, until now. This podcast is perfect for me. Guy: keep up the amazing work!!!
Guy introduces you to aspects of Israeli culture that are hard to penetrate without a deep understanding of the language. And he does it in a completely accessible way that improves your Hebrew. Some knowledge of very basic Hebrew is useful to get the most out of this podcast, but really anybody would enjoy it. I love this podcast!
What a great way to learn Hebrew. Guy keeps his podcast topical, interesting and fun!
I never miss an episode. Seriously. Guy does a fantastic job presenting new words and usages in little 10 minute bites. Achla!!
