Over the next ten days, URP and ultrasportslive.tv will be releasing a series of podcasts with top runners entered in the competitive Lake Sonoma 50 on April 12. To start things off, we’ve got Nick Clark, Stephanie Howe, and Chris Vargo.
Altra’s Nick Clark (URP interview here) is a hundred mile specialist (Grand Slam ’13) who doesn’t shy away from picking up the pace on shorter courses. His 10th place at last year’s Sonoma proves he’ll be up front throughout the day and toughening it out when it gets grueling.
Then there’s TheNorthFace’s Stephanie Howe (URP interview here) has got her plate full with a doctorate dissertation and coaching, yet has still found time to squeeze in a win at Speedgoat, 2nd at UROC, and a recent win at Mesquite Canyon 50k. She’s got a ton of positive energy and is ready to run hard.
And finally, Nike Trail Elite’s Chris Vargo has bounced back from a ’13 injury to bag a 3rd at NorthFace 50 miler in Dec and a first at WayTooCool in March. Chris has got a great attitude and likes to race hard. And to make it even more fun, I’ll be crewing for him during the race.
This should be good. Stay tuned for more preview interviews with a couple of speedsters and some real quick returning champions.
