On The Library, Tim talks to veteran author and Hip Hop Historian Brian Coleman about his new book “Check the Technique: Vol 2: More Liner Notes For Hip-Hop Junkies." During the interview Tim asked Brian for the story behind Mos Def and Talib Kweli Are Black Star album. "Black Star was never a group," Coleman explained. "It was intended to be a one off album. It was never intended to be a long term thing...Talib Kweli's main goal was to do a Reflection Enternal album and the Black Star album was kind of a means to an end...Mos Def, Yasin Bey, looked at that album like a jazz session from the 50s..."

Part of The Library's interview with Brian Coleman will air this Sunday, 8pm EST on rapstation.com. It'll also be available for download this Monday here https://itun.es/i6g432b.
