I listen to this podcast pretty much every day and have learned so much about the world from a Christian worldview. Iâm grateful for this biblically grounded perspective in our ever-changing society!
Daily must listen for every Christian in America.
Dr Mohler have been a tremendous influence on me both in doctrine and as a nee podcaster. âThank you for everything you never new you taught me, Dr Mohler!â ð
This is the podcast you need to listen to as a Christian, puts everything in the news in the right perspective. Iâve loved listening to him ever since Allie Stuckey recommended him.
This is a great Podcast to think critically about the news and the meaning behind what's happening. I love the way Mohler shares it, and there are links to all the stories/articles he shares from in the show notes. He often groups stories on a theme and hits 2-3 themes per episode. This is one of my top 2 podcasts. I listen to almost every one.
Important news through a biblical lens. We are called to have a Christian worldview, and this podcast delivers. Because of Mohler, I can now follow the news again. Most people do not appreciate the worldview underlying the news they consume. It always has an underlying worldview since each of us carries a different worldview. A secular news source does not an underlying Christian worldview.
Mr. Mohler does a fantastic job of dissecting the current cultureâs most subtle takeovers of truth. The podcast illuminates large and small attacks on The Truth presented in the Word of God. I am very thankful God has given Mr. Mohler this platform to speak the truth in the midst of the encroaching darkness of this age.
One of the few podcasts I listen to "religiously." Absolutely excellent.
I am just in 6th grade and I love these podcasts. My parents listened to your podcasts all the time and I caught on to them to. Thank you for making these!!!!
Every morning Dr. Mohler reminds us that there is truth, even as culture deepens its pursuit of a Godless, nonsensical, and ultimately self-contradicting world view. Some bible, prayer, and 22 minutes of Mohler will fortify you for the battle. Thank you Dr. Mohler for all you do.
I cut off the satellite but still need news! I canât stand to listen to the bickering of the hosts and constant complaining of âregular newsâ, but I want to know whatâs going on in the world. Dr Mohler enjoyable to listen to and always challenging. I have to âlisten fastâ because he provides so much information in such a manageable amount of time. Highly recommend!
I have listing to the briefing for several years now, I find it very helpful in discerning the news headlines from a Christian and biblical worldview. Albert boulders daily broadcast Is an important part of my daily commute.
My husband and I love listening in and discussing current event through the Christian worldview. We appreciate Albert Mohlerâs perspective!
It seems less and less Christians are willing to think deeply about how a Christian worldview should process current events. It is incredibly encouraging to hear a program from a Christian doing this.
Thank you Dr. Mohler for a wonderful podcast. Your sharp insights into the chaotic news are really interesting and I often find them razor sharp and sometimes genuinely hilarious. Having these podcasts along for the ride on my commutes during the past year has matured in my thinking and grown my desire to live a meaningful Christian life.By the way I donât know how you are able to do this every day... amazing. Thank you.
Iâm a stay at home mom and have appreciated this podcast from 2013 until now. Dr. Mohler helps Christians think as Christians when faced with current events.
What a gift to true believers. Must listen.
A well done, informative, wrap-up of daily news and events. This is a Podcast I try to listen to each day. [Pastor Tom/24Today Podcast]
For anyone who wants to understand and comprehend how biblical Christianâs look at and understand the world around them this podcast is for you. Even for the non-Christian, this podcast will help you get a better handle on how biblically-minded Christians think and provide you something more than a cartoon of the Christian worldview. Dr. Mohler takes up to the deed articles from the nations in the worldâs most influential news sources and breaks them down into the simple facts and to where those facts point. A twenty-minute breath of fresh air.
This is one of those podcasts for Christians that should never be missed. Dr. Mohler provides in depth insight into daily issues that always seem to make me think deeper than I did prior to listening. Sometimes the content may seem heavy but we absoliutely need to hear it.
I had not heard of this podcast until taking Perspectives class on missions. Dr Mohler does a great job sharing a conservative Christian perspective. Thank you for sharing a Biblical worldview. I wish more could be exposed to this podcast.
Using biblical references to figure out whatâs happening in todayâs society
Highly recommend this show to everyone!! This show is absolutely needed in today's culture. Getting news and information about current events from a Christian worldview is extremely difficult today. This is an excellent slow that brings headlines with analysis from a biblical understanding of Truth. Absolutely crucial for our times.
Not all news has a long lasting cultural effect. Mohler adroitly filters and compiles the news that will make, or is a result of, waves in culture. He consolidates multiple news sources with the intention of illustrating societal worldview, not merely of informing knowledge. He is abundantly careful with his words, notably and expertly refraining from use of inflammatory language, language that could potentially serve as little more than a diversion from the core matter. He lets the news say what it does, not omitting details that detract from an agenda, and also supplementing abridged reporting with the full story. And finally, more than news analysis, Mohler offers news synthesis, demonstrating that all news worthy thoughts piece together to form a single picture of theology practiced. This is my go-to podcast for isolating what is important in current events.
Your continued efforts are greatly appreciated!
Love your podcast and miss hearing you each summer. Enjoy your break.
Where is this yearâs Summer Reading List?
I love this podcast! Dr. Mohler shares news stories of which I otherwise may not be aware. And then he skillfully articulates a Biblical perspective of the subject matter. I find myself often better informed and equipped to discuss the topic and more importantly, capable of thinking it through! I enjoy his presentation and passion. Youâre missing out if you arenât subscribed!
This is the most thoughtful Christian news outlet. Period.
This podcast tops my list. Mohler is top notch, and it boggles the mind to consider how he produces such quantities of quality content across so many mediums. Great stuff.
Pastor Mohler, thank you for taking the time to make this podcast. I can only imagine how many hours a week this takes to prepare. Thanks for the sacrifice you make and the research you do in order to give us a concise and helpful snapshot of the world each morning. May God richly strengthen and bless you as you pursue Him.
My favorite pod
This look at the newsâfrom a conservative, biblical perspectiveâis the best way to take in the major headlines. Mohler works to make it clear how world views at playâbe they Christian, secular, or otherwiseâinteract and lead to the breaking news stories of the day. If you want to better understand our culture at large (and how to think about it), I canât recommend any podcast more than this.
If you are looking for the best news podcast with a very conservative reformed Christian worldview, look no further than the briefing. Dr.Mohler presents the news like no one else can.
We need al mohler!
Dr. Albert Mohler (President of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) is the host of this news briefing podcast. He generally takes three (maybe four) news items of the day and speaks to them from a Christian worldview. He helps the listener develop a keen sense of what it means to look at events from a biblical mindset. I never miss an episode (Mondays-Fridays). These are about 20 minutes long or so. Incidentally he also has a podcast called Thinking in Public. This one is simply him interviewing an author about a book or current subject matter. These are longer (about 1 hour) and very sporadic.
This podcast uses truth, passion, insight, and Scripture to discuss and help people understand todayâs political, economic, and cultural events.
Look forward to this podcast every morning! A hint of humor mixed with the truths of the gospel - this is just what everyone needs to hear.
Each podcast is a mini lecture in worldview analysis. Always engaging and insightful. Helps you grow in critical thinking. Highly recommended!
I am so thankful for The Briefing! What a great way to help see a biblical perspective on current issues.
Iâm a traditional Assemblies of God pastor in Oklahoma. I started listening to Dr. Mohler a few years ago, and have learned a lot from him. Extremely well spoken, but not too lofty for the average listener. Though I disagree with a few of his conclusions in lesser important issues, I have yet to disagree with him in the major issues concerning biblical truth and cultural happenings. I hope he continues this for many more years.
I really enjoy listening to Dr. Mohler's analysis of news from a biblical perspective. I was introduced to this by my daughter (which makes a Christian dad's heart leap for joy!). I have been encouraging my Christian friends to listen to this podcast. It was about time that I wrote a public review.
I stopped watching the news when my brother along with 9 others were prisoners in a Haiti. Knowing the truth and then seeing all reputations of these people ruined for the sake of sensationalism. News stations finding truth, never really restored the purpose and hearts of these people trying to serve Jesus.Finding a need to be more informed, I asked this same brother where he was getting trust worthy news. He suggested listening to Albert Mohler. I am thrilled! He is concise, clear and relevant. Wasting not a single word he takes news and gives me a big picture view of the world. Then he gives the how and why of Christian thinking through the Bibleâs filter.Thank you for your work, dear ones in the faith, keep on keeping on! I want more of this truth in daily news!!
Is there an Evangelical leader more deft at speaking and communicating that Dr. Al Mohler? I doubt it. This is a great way to keep up with daily events on your drive to work. Dr. Mohler keeps it moving, offers his typical critical analysis, and ties everything back to a biblical worldview. Production values are always high. A couple of minor quibbles: He needs to agree to a moratorium on the phrase "in terms of." He says this so often, it's impossible to not notice its overuse. He uses it when it's grammatically unnecessary. It's clearly his fallback conjunction, but more often than not it just doesn't work. Also, Dr. Mohler should consider how to present these ideas and concepts without always saying we Christians "need to think about this" or "remain aware of this" or "take this serioulsly". After a week of broadcasts we're all exhausted with all the things we have to remember. Sometimes it's enough to simply let us know what's happening, provide some implications, and leave the application to us. (Just like a good preacher should do.)
I never miss a briefing. And I feel very accomplished when I reach a conclusion as Dr. Mohler quotes an article and articulates the same biblical perspective. His insight had clarified my vision immensely.
Dr. Mohler is outstanding At apply by the biblical worldview model to current events and keeping Christians in the right frame of reference.
One of the best when it comes to analysis of current events.
The Briefing is a consistent, coherent, and thought provoking news podcast from an accurate Christian perspective. Mohler speaks of articles and news from an intellectual and theological basis rather than emotional and worldly. It is a daily must for my husband and I.
Mohlerâs âThe Briefingâ is insightful in breaking down current issues into their fundamental moral components. After listening daily to the show for six months (probably more) the show does get repetitive and youâll see Mohler hammering away at Abortion and the Sexual Revolution. While Mohler claims only to deal with topics that are in the media to the point of unavoidability he has developed conspicuous lacunae when it comes to race and race relations to the point where his Christian emphases are stereotypically âEvangelicalâ of a certain milieu. Mohler will almost always conclude on the side of the politically conservative reading of a situation and where perhaps he canât, heâll remain silent. In this regard, donât expect to be challenged in your conservative Christian worldview. Youâll be able to maintain your disdain for African Americans and disbelief in systemic injustice while enhancing your jargon to protect and defend your upper middle class Evangelical lifestyle. Mohler in this sense is very much establishment, but I do appreciate the show and intend to continue listening. Just be reminded you may only be a couple of stone throws away from Limbaugh and youâre only kidding yourself if you think no one knows. Additional star for diversification of your Christian consumerist media.
I am a twenty-eight year old, new father and learning husband of three and a half years, a pastor at a small town church in northern Minnesota. Having found and now been routinely listening to the briefing, I am so thankful that men like Albert exists to report the news from a clear Christian worldview. I am often sad at the end of each podcast, due to the ever increasing moral decay of our culture and way of life. I am choosing to write this review in hopes that more young people will listen in on a regular basis, listen intently, hear correctly, and begin to take proper action in theirs own lives to live differently then everything else around them. Blessings Mr. Mohler, keep up the good fight.
