Nutritional biochemist and author Bill Lagakos is our interview guest today in Episode 1372 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show.”

In today’s interview, we have a star in the low-carb and Paleo communities with a Ph.D. in Nutritional Biochemistry and Physiology and a researcher into issues such as obesity, inflammation, and insulin resistance named Dr. William “Bill” Lagakos, PhD from the “Calories Proper” blog. There’s been a lot of debate in recent years about the role calories play in nutrition which is what led Bill to write a simple little book entitled The Poor, Misunderstood Calorie to educate people on this subject that has been used to justify the promotion of a low-fat, high-carb diet.

Check out this awesome conversation between Jimmy and Bill about the distinction between the definition of a calorie biochemically vs. nutritionally, the importance of the quality of calories consumed, the vital role that fats play in the diet, why the calorie apologists are gonna hate what Bill Lagakos has to share in this interview, his defense of the reputation of the poor, misunderstood calorie, and so much more! .
