Brian Windhorst delivers - great insight, moves around the league. Some of his guests (J McMullen, R Shelbourne) and even Andrew Han compliment Brian well and the conversation flows. This podcast loses me whenever Tim Bontemps or Dave McMenamin are on they just step ALL OVER Windhorst and all the other guests. Listening skills are so poor for some and it prevents a listener from hearing the end of a comment or statement. Their egos seem too big, which is exactly what I donât expect from a Windhorst podcast. Iâll reevaluate my rating in a few episodes but either have the professional guests act professional or donât have them on. Sorry Brian and Andrew.
I realize this man just got to espn after following lebum like a child molester watching his every step from 6th grade to high school. But he now tries to be a basketball analyst while not knowing of the rest of the nba. But keep this man on the staff so espn can have one fat man on their staff
Windy is the best. His guests are the best. Andrew Han has emerged as an awesome foil to Windy. Everyone is super informed, engaging, smart, insightful, and has the right approach; you canât take this all too seriously, so make it fun. This is the best basketball podcast.
Jesus man, very low level analysis. Sometimes i feel like windhorst just makes up âsourcesâ so he can input his opinion on a situation without backlash. I recommend The Lowe Post for analysis or Jalen and Jacoby for entertainment, this is the worst of both worlds imo
This podcast is so boring. The old pod was so much fun. They combined the seriousness of ESPN with a looseness that is needed. Now itâs just boring and not really fun at all. Really went downhill. Unfortunate.
Donât listen to this pod to get Andrew Hanâs opinion.
This pod is a welcome reprieve from the fake debate talk show format ESPN embraced. Windhorst, MacMullen, & McMahon are no nonsense reporters who speculate only when brainstorming their tips to form theories, but never for clicks or subs; which is why I sub to this & not â The Jumpâ.
The podcast was lead by Brian Windhorst into the rumors and gossip category. League sources in this era are not to be trusted but Brian makes up rumors whole cloth. The final straw was saying the Pelicans didnât negotiate in good faith with the Lakers about Anthony Davis. There are other hosts that offer some insight into the NBA. My only complaint about them is they are biased toward their sources which seem to be regional. This is kind of sad podcast if youâre interested in basketball discussions about NBA teams not named, the Celtics, Lakers, Knicks, Mavericks, Rockets and Warriors. There are other team in the league with news but this podcast seems to fall back on rumors and controversy to keep itâs listened count.
At this point it feels like Iâm just listening to the same podcast over and over again. Nothing but talking about Anthony Davis, the Lakers, and the Celtics over and over again. I get that these are big stories but for the love of god there is other stuff going on in the NBA
I would like to listen to the experts. First Jade, now Han...
The gaggle of âanalystsâ and Nichols eating while recording is just too much. On top of the unprofessional producer interjecting his most wittiest comments which interrupt the flow of the actual analysts lol
The episodes with Jackie Mac and Banned McMahan are really good. But I canât stand Andrew Hahnâs interjections or his insufferable banter with Windhorst. Definitely not Cajones factor producer of the month.
Need the cowboy McMan music back.. otherwise itâs ð¥ð¥ð¥
This is a fun podcast to hear NBA insiders chat about the latest news in the league!
The name of this podcast is ridiculous. Calling out Brian Windhorst and still calling it a "collective" is an oxymoron. It is so bad that Brian refuses to speak it. So, every podcast starts with tiresome banter between Brian and his producer to get the name out. Please stop it ESPN.
This is a good podcast to listen to when your craving some nba news. Good insight from everyone.
This show has reviews from 10 years ago and certainly those donât reflect what the show is now. With Windy at the helm every podcast I like the consistently solid crew and conversation. Last year I just wanted to listen to the hardcore episodes with Brian to compliment the Lowe and Woj pods but it wasnât happening. Now, as long as he can remember to say it, with the podcast having Brian lead it is going in the right direction.
forget woj. when it comes to covering basketball, brian is the goat.
Brian and Tim are great, but this pod is just missing somethingâitâs just bland. More Amin would be a good start.
I love this podcast itâs the only one I really look forward to and usually listen right away. Keep up the good work.
I like the content on the pod, however it is really annoying when everyone is talking and they keep talking over each other. Long awkward pauses.
This pod is vanilla, you get all this basic info off ESPN or any other sports media outlets. Shake it up, dive deeper, get players to host. UNSUBSCRIBING TILL CHANGES ARE MADE.
I download all episodes and generally like all the analysts. Iâve never commented before but this episode with Goldsberry and Bontempts (January 14) was excellent. Real analysis of rosters and coaching decisions.
Dope podcast, good reporting and some cool conversations with Jackie McMullen and other good guests one of my favorite NBA pods
Decent insider stuff but McMahon always tries to make it his show and tries too hard to play the heel/tough guy
One of the best NBA podcasts ever. My must listen! Jackie is a Goddess and forever my celebrity crush now. McMan is the crazy that keeps the show on its toes. Brian is of course fantabulous.
I like Windhorstâs general tone, delivery and measured perspectives , as he nicely integrates his fluid cast. He is very knowledgeable about the league and McMahon is an all world Troll. Hilarious. And Jackie Mac is an undeniable legend . More Timmy Goodtimes Bontempts would be a plus.
Quality of the audio is my biggest turnoff. After listening to Brianâs competition, I just donât get how the ESPN backed audio quality is placed in reversed. Content is good, Nick Fridell as a guest is good, but this podcast needs an upgrade.
Honestly I love windy but canât stand that racist monkey Jackie MacMullen. If she is off the show Iâll start listening again
Great NBA podcast enjoy it twice a week.
Windhorstâs refusal to intro the podcast and instead ask his producer, âWhat am I supposed to say?â is lazy and just a really weird look. Love listening to him and his guests, as this has become one of my favorite hoops podcasts. But Windhorst just comes off lazy and unorganized. Why openly declare your unwillingness to subscribe? Why mock your producers cues to switch topics rather than just move the conversation yourself? It just makes for a weird listen to a podcast with some really awesome content.
This podcast is full of wrong facts and incorrect analysis. Not to mention the host being completely uninformed and ill prepared.
Brian pods forever - love everyone #onhere
I miss so much all the jingles were last season. ð They warmed me as quests pod parts (KB&KP and more). Anyway, this is still the best NBA podcast nowadays with noiseless discussions without harsh, offense, and overhyping.
I really wanted to like this podcast but dear god. Just re-title this podcast old people complaining. Iâve given it 5 separate listens and 3 times I had to stop listening itâs just terrible.
Love the exchanges but production feels off in this season. Music awful. Seasons 1 the tone was right. Bring back Bam intro!!!
Love Jackie. Windhorst isn't bad. Just need Banned McMahon, Banned McMahon, he the baddest dude in all the land. Would be 5 stars if the song was back
I like Brian and LOVE Jackie Mac, but holy crap. Can the worldwide leader in sports afford an ISDN line?
Literally spends most of his time complaining about Russell Westbrook.. get some real insight and get the sour grapes out of ur mouth Brian
This podcast should just be called âBrian Windhorst complainsâ because thatâs basically all that happens
But the conversation is so dry and boring. Jackie is the only member with personality.
But Jackie Mac is clearly the âRock Star.â
Brian Windhorst is a great podcast guest, but as a lead on his own podcast, he is boring AF. His energy level is low, and his co-hosts are worse. Whoever the guy is that answers Brianâs âtell me what Iâm supposed to sayâ has GOT to wake up. I only listen when Jackie McMullen is a guest, and half the time even SHE gets sucked into the Sominex Vortex that is this podcast. Thatâs saying a lot because Jackie is one of my favorites.
You have to bring back dudes intro, what happened to it. Brians is doing a get job. I love this podcast.
Can be an informative podcast, but listening to Windhorst go on and on about how important he is and how the world is hanging on his every word for aggregation purposes is tiring. Even more ridiculous, listening to Windhorst talk about how old, grizzled, and experienced he is (he remembers the olden days of Paul Pierce, Kobe Bryant, and Ray Allen- what an old school gray beard!). Maybe you should retire, Brian, if you're so old, tired, and worn out from all the knowledge you need to lug around. Poor guy. So much suffering he must endure-travel, aggregators, writing for a living. My bones ache from listening to him.
I donât know why there are so many 9yr old reviews here with one star. This new iteration of the podcast with Windhorst at the helm and Jackie MacMullen a regular contributor makes up the highest level of informed NBA discussion out there. I love it. Keep it coming. The Live-recorded game day episodes also highly entertaining and give an inside look to the players as human beings striving to compete in the most competitive setting on earth for the sport. Bravo.
This pod in its 2018 version is great. Multiple voices from around the league covering multiple teams and comes with some behind the scenes intel. This is in my NBA pod rotation. When I look here I see reviews from 5-10 years ago mentioning âBowenâ. This is NOT the same pod, NOT the same people. Should remove old reviews! It is tainting the current version of this pod!
The core cast are all star NBA reporters who clearly love the game and love talking about it. Windhorst is great and unique host - as grumpy as he is likable - and McMullan and McMahon are as good as it gets as panelists; they all bring great insight born from years and decades of living the NBA. The rotating guest panelists like Kevin Arnovitz are almost universally excellent as well. Definitely a must listen for hoop heads.
Windhorst is the best source of news in the nba.
I really enjoy the basketball diaries feature!
