Miami Dolphins Tales From The Deep

A first round draft choice by the Green Bay Packers out of North Carolina in 1998, Vonnie Holliday enjoyed a 15-year career in the National Football League before retiring at the conclusion of the 2012 season. Vonnie spent five years in Green Bay and two seasons in Kansas City, but it was former Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban who brought the defensive end to Miami in 2005 where he played along the defensive line with the likes of Jason Taylor, Kevin Carter and Keith Traylor. In The Tank, Vonnie reveals the story behind his unique name, recalls his first experience as a high priced first round draft choice and how Nick Saban convinced him not to retire prior to the 2005 season. Vonnie also discusses Matt Roth’s refusal to lose a bet, and exactly what he and Jason Taylor were talking about on the sidelines during games.
