This is such an authentic podcast. The transparency is unmatched. Also, I appreciate that although it is for âentertainmentâ purposes I do not feel like it is drama filled. I can totally relate to aspects of Glen and Yvetteâs personalities. It is nice to see other marriages have some of the same conflicts as mine and I feel more comfortable finding that out without feeling like I am âgossipingâ with my friends about my relationship. Thank you for normalizing authentic conversation about love, relationships and marriage. I am a believer and appreciate the references while still being realistic about feelings, conflicts and solutions.
Hi!!! Ok, so I learned about you guys from black millennial marriage podcast and as I did with them, Iâm starting from the beginning. Yâall are sooooo dope! Iâm only on episode 6 but confession, Iâve listened to it 3 times and episode 5 like 3 or 4. Iâve laughed âwith yâallâ cried, re-evaluated life, self checked and all of dat! This whole goal thing and trust ahhhhhh! Yâall have NO idea but you actually do because Iâve heard it on this podcast. So yeah, thanks. Thanks for just you being you. -dprocfab5
Thank you for your willingness to be open, honest and Brave. This episode was tender, important and so important. Keep up the fantastic work yâall! Amelia
Not too many people will have these conversations in public and you guys are make a difference in my life. I never had those conversations with my ex-husband and if I did we probably would still be married.Thanksðð¾
I really enjoy the the unfiltered conversations on the pod.
I love this podcast because it's so real. As a single woman, I love the honest conversations they have about marriage and family. It gives me a realistic perspective about what marriage looks like. It's not a fairytale but it's still desirable in all it's messiness. I also love hearing stories about the chocolate babies and seeing the funny and frustrating sides of parenthood. Definitely worth a listen!
As a newlywed and New father Beleaf has been a blessing in my life and I truly appreciate his platform. HMAY podcast has help me and my wife through their transparency see how to apply grace during the good & bad. They express how they navigate through the balances of life and parenthood thatâs very entertaining and hilarious!!
Super creative Glen, known as rapper Beleaf turned YouTuber, started to share his journey of holding down the kids at home while Yvette held it down as a teacher with Beleaf in Fatherhood (check out the channel on YouTube). Now this power team lives out love and faith for us to listen to and itâs THE BEST! From Chocolate Baby Story Time to How Married Are You, this podcast has all the feels, life transparency and wisdom that any listener could want! Yvette & Glenn thank you for daring to love AND daring to share it AND doing it so beautifully! Much love and blessings to you two! #relationshipgoals #chocolatebabies #beleafinfatherhood #mrsbeleafmel #yalldabest #yassss
I love you guys!! I started listening to HMAY about 2 weeks ago from episode one and now I'm almost caught up. You guys are such an inspiration for chocolate love. My boyfriend is a creative, like Beleaf, and hearing his perspectives has helped me gain clarity into my bf's thought processes and mindset. One of these days I would just love to hang out with you guys. Keep doing what your doing! **you guys should do a podcast about Yvette's experience marrying a creative (Professionally. I believe we're all creative in our own ways) and Beleaf's experience being with someone who isn't.
You two are hilarious! Topics are super cool and I love your transparency. Itâs nice to hear relatable and entertaining content. And, your beats and music for this podcast are the best! Please keep it coming ð
This is my favorite podcast! Thank you for using your marriage to encourage us. After every episode I feel spurred on to continue to love my spouse as God calls us too. Keep up the good work guys!
I seriously donât know if I could articulate how thankful I am for this podcast. There is a narrative about black folks that have become a prison for the minds of those whoâs only access to our story are movies and tv. Thank you for reminding us how multifaceted we are. Ugh, we are so beautiful. Iâm also thankful that this podcast crosses lines in the sand that have been drawn when of comes to people of color. Your podcast is a reflection of the human experience. Thank you.
I love this podcast! Whenever I listen to Beleaf and Mrs. Melanin itâs like listening to my married friends with kids. They make very thought provoking points that I donât normally think about. Sometimes the conversation gets so spirited I catch myself laughing out loud at the back and forth between glen and Yvette! I love their chocolate baby stories at the beginning of the show. And I love the âhow married are you?â question to wrap up the show. Love these guys so much and I love all their babies. Itâs such a great alternative to vapid radio conversations.
Hey guys! Just want to say I love your content. And listening to your podcast really opens up new conversation with my boyfriend about our future. I hope yâall continue to grow and I know you guys are touching a lot of people lives.
Restoring my faith, real conversation, problems, resolutions, laughs, and tears! I have my boyfriend listening now! No matter if your married or single this is for everyone!
This is really so good. It really teaches me the gravity of what marriage and parenting really are. And I laugh so hard just because they make it fun, even when itâs tense.
Husband and I have always been a fan of Yvette and Beleaf (Glen) and the chocolate babies. Iâm so happy this podcast exists. Itâs inspiring and theyâre just great to listen to. Black spouses that genuinely love each other never gets old or tired. Thank yâall!
My favorite is how you all incorporate the music. I love that you add a different spin on songs we know. The mix of hip hop, jazz, r & b, etc. is so relevant. The chocolate baby stories segment is so adorable and very creative.
Morning Guys, love the show. About 7 of my male friends and I are fans of the show and content, weâll hold you down. The reason we listen to the show/ keep up with the content is we are all black fathers, different capacities, but fathers none the less. All of us becoming fathers in the last 3 years, others married, itâs been a place to learned and grow as lovers, fathers, parents and community. - West
I love the transparency!
Married, single, parents, non-parents...this is a great podcast! I love the anecdotes about the chocolate babies. I love the honest marriage advice and the humorâhowever unintentional it is, lol. I love this couple and canât wait to hear more from them!
Glenn and Yvette are goals and are so relatable! From Marriage, kids and theyâre spiritual. Listen subscribe and share I do and I follow them on all my social media to support them because in ways they are supporting me with the positive work they put out. Keep it going you two. MUCH LOVE PATTY!! #threekidzlater ð¥°
I enjoy the way you all converse. It's relaxed and feels as though you make an effort to be as forthright as possible.
This podcast is rich with honest heartfelt conversation. It is both convicting and inspiring, raw and real. It is also extremely balanced. Believers and non-believers alike can identify with this couple, never conforming to the pressure of perfection but always in subtle ways leading its audience to the Lord. The love between Yvette and Glen is undeniably evident Hands down their marriage is a ministry.
Thank you so much for being faithful and doing this podcast! Love how real you are!
The realness is awesome. I loved Beleaf in fatherhood first and am so glad you guys have decided to share more with us. Keep it up. You're a blessing and inspiration.
My wife and I listen to every episode and also watch their YouTube videos. It always leads us to have meaningful discussions that we might not have otherwise. Highly recommend this podcast!
I have been with this show since the beginning and when I tell you it has been a blessing to my soul it has been a blessing to my soul. Someone of the episodes speak so much to me that it has caused me to to break down and cry on the inside. This podcast is the truth right here.
The vibes are nice and authentic, always! Blessings!ððâ¤ï¸
It's simple, YOU NEED THIS PODCAST WHETHER MARRIED, LOOKING, OR NOT PLANNING. This is a golden opportunity for anyone wanting to be encouraged by getting a behind the scenes look into what American families, marriages, or just real relationships look like. Free from surface level type talk. This is real life! And I don't know about y'all, but real life teaches me much more than I could ever imagine. Highly recommended, always in support of!! ðª
This podcast makes me so happy. One of the realest perspectives of marriage, parenting, and the connection between Yvette and Glen is very genuine and unique. I love them together and love listening to their perspectives.
Hey Beleaf and Yvette! I really have been loving your podcast (other than the YouTube channel, which I found first) and the topics that you have been discussing. I am contacting you in regards to my current relationship. I have been courting for a year now and the person I love is very much in love with me. We have known one another since 11th grade of high school. I knew him for about 2 and a half years. I am currently a college student. He shows his love in many ways that I can appreciate. He never pressures me (like my ex-bfs), he puts a lot of time into me, he and I trust one another and we have been friends before we started dating. The only thing that separates us is religious beliefs. He believes that there is a higher power, but he does not know how to go about finding it. I believe in Jesus Christ. I know He is the Lord and savior of humanity. My boyfriend does not reject my beliefs and he does not hassle me or show any hate towards the idea of God, but I want to be sure that I am making the right choice by dating him. He does make an effort to come to church and listen to me when I tell him about the Lord. I am wondering if God is trying to bring him into the fold by introducing him to my family and church. That has happened with other family members of mine and they have changed to following and loving the Lord. My boyfriend is my best friend. Should I continue to court him and trust that God has put us together for an important reason or should I move on to someone else?I apologize for this being so wordy. I appreciate your time and patience.Sincerely,Latoya
I LOVE listening to this podcast. Glenn and Yvette does a great job illustrating what LOVE looks like. I just want to say thank you for being real, authentic, and brave for allowing us into yâall lives. I canât get enough of the CHOCOLATE BABIES! ð God bless you guys!
This podcast is life and there is no proper way to describe how on point every conversation is in regard to family, relationships, kids and how to do marriage well. As a single women, I have gone back and forth on if I even want to get married. I didnât have a good example of it with my parents and it didnât end well with them. But you guys have been so inspiring that Iâm changing my mind and looking forward to what God is going to bless me with! Keep being amazing!
I knew this couple before through the Beleaf in Fatherhood channel, but I LOVE this podcast and laugh at how similar their convos are to ours. Itâs real talk and they bring up great talking points for other marriages or soon to be. My favorite aspect of what they share is how they SERVE each other. Itâs apparent and Iâm glad they are sharing it! Keep it up you guys.
I listen to every episode & discuss with the wife afterwards. The best way to learn is to learn with and from others. Steel sharpens steel. Much â¤ï¸
I donât know how I stumbled across this gem of a family but Iâm SO grateful I did. Yâall are so freaking dope! Itâs hard to find a black Christian marriage thatâs also REAL, DOWN TO EARTH and RELATABLE. I feel like Iâm getting advice from family when I listen in. Lots of good laughs and great advice!
I came across this podcast after digging more into the people behind the crowdfunding campaign for the kids YouTube show. I must say - this podcast is a true GEM. As someone who didnât grow up in a household with a married couple and donât have many married friends, I struggle with long term relationships. This podcast has opened me up to a world where people can be SO different and not see eye to eye on things yet still maintain a strong relationship. THIS is the reality of marriage that more of us need to see. Beyond the instagrammable moments and sappy posts - the real. Thank you for sharing. If I ever get married and have kids, itâll be because you both showed me itâs possible.
I absolutely LOVE listening to this podcast on my way to work, while I cook, and even clean.
Glen and Yvette are the real deal. They are so genuine and pure in front of a worldwide audience. Itâs an honor to be able to listen to them, Christians and non-Christians can relate. Listen to just one episode, you wonât regret it. In fact, youâll get sucked into the tribe and seek for more.
This podcast is something that is literally speaking volumes to me and my wife. We feel like our life literally mirrors their marriage and itâs so refreshing to know that we arenât the only ones going through similar things. We love you and God loves you, thank you for letting the world in on this blessing that is your marriage and lives.
I love this podcast. They both have voices you just want to listen to & easy to listen to.
I came across a video on Facebook a few years ago which chronicled Yvetteâs home birth. I binge watched EVERY YouTube video to catch up and have been following Beleaf every since. I love this podcast because the Henryâs keep it real and truly live out their lives as believers in a practical way. My husband (who is also a creative) and I (a middle school teacher) listen to the podcast together in the car and find ourselves pressing pause as it generates positive conversations between the two of us. THANK YOU for stepping out on faith and doing what you do. Your obedience blesses us and encourages us to do the same. Love and peace!
I really enjoy this podcast! They discuss things so openly and honestly that you canât help but laugh sometimes only because itâs happened to you too. At the same time listening to it with my husband opens us up to discuss the same topics that we may have stayed away from because we were âscaredâ of how we would react. Overall I would totally recommend this to anyone, married, dating, even single!
Love listening to you guys! I swear my husband and I are like youâre twins. Things that beleaf says/does my husband does. Things that Yvette says/does I do. We also have 2 older sons and a daughter. Keep putting out great content!
I enjoy Beleaf in Fatherhood and the lessons it present so anything you all touch I know will be great. So once you all started the podcast, I was in! The podcast has been so helpful for me understanding my communication in my own relationship and opening up to different perspectatives/ approachs
My name is Hope and Iâm a 23 year old college student with a boyfriend of a little over a year. I just wanted to say yâall have been so inspiring to me in so many ways! From how you treat your beautiful children on Beleaf in Fatherhood to how you communicate to one another on the podcast. Itâs so encouraging to hear how real and transparent yâall are on subjects that some may find difficult to discuss. Iâm so blessed by your story and find encouragement in my relationship with my boyfriend as we seek the Lord first and God willing get married soon. Thank you both for all you do!!
Thank you guys for doing this podcast, it gives me hope as a single woman listening to your transparency! I love that you donât sugar coat your struggles! Iâve been watching beleaf in fatherhood since you started the channel so this podcast really brings everything full circle. It gives a clearer picture of what your life is like, it's easy to look at the YouTube videos and feel like your marriage and family is perfect but this podcast brings truth! I'm always excited when a new episode drops so please keep them coming!
Yo, I literally listened to all of the episodes in two days. The content is great for starting discussions not just with married folk but also single folk. To see you guys creating a free and safe space to spend more time with each other...to top it all off YOUâRE helping the body of Christ and nonbelievers the same. I truly enjoy it. Keep it coming.
Awesome podcast. I may be classified as a younginâ but the gems youâll drop on a weekly-ish basis has me looking forward to marriage. Bless you. Prayers up for your dream and strength for your vision.
