• Hal was born and raised in Springfield, MA, and graduated from UMass Amherst with an undergraduate degree and a masters degree in communications
• He started his career in radio, and moved to California in 1972
• Hal met Joe Cerrell when Hal was a radio host in California, and eventually went to work for him in 1977
• Hal has been with the company ever since, and now owns it 
• Cerrell Associates is a full service firm - besides lobbying, they handle communications and stakeholder outreach
