Love this podcast but none 2019 podcasts are populating -
These podcasts are magical little gems that constantly inspire and educate me. Many thousands of thank yous to Bob, all of the guests and anyone involved in the production of this invaluable resource. I am so grateful that this exists!
Bob's Podcasts are as good as his newsletter - both are excellent and fun!!
......any fan of music and the business side of music. Most of the guests are from the heyday of the business but the discussions are always include the state of the industry today. Bob asks great questions however he interrupts the guests too much. Just let them finish talking before you ask the next question man!
Iâm 29 and not in the music biz, so I didnât know who Bob was. I discovered him from an interview with RuPaul on Ruâs Whatâs the Tea podcast. I was hooked and had to look him up. I know get the legendary letter and have been working on all the back episodes of the podcast. If youâve ever listened to music, had questions about Spotify or want to know how the Amazon Echo is changing the world, youâve gotta tune in.
I was unfamiliar with Bob and stumbled upon this by accident but love the candid open interviews. I feel like I should be chilling with a cocktail while listening. Thanks Bob for the interesting and informative interviews :)
Long-time reader, first-time listener, first-time writer, moved to review given the rich "experience" and full dynamics between Bob and Giles. Hearing the indepth exchange with humor, history, Dad George, The Beatles (of course), Paul specifically and so much more helped round out so much more for Giles' LOVE vision and diverse career path. Loved It!
...and I happily kick back, gnaw on the bread ignored in the center, and enjoy.
The biggest surprise is that Bob has a vocal texture of Dr Demento
Bob Lefsetz has been there, done that, and knows everyone. He has context behind the deals behind the music.
Wow - I've been reading your newsletter for years, but your well researched (e.g., knowing Peter Asher's parents background; relative time and place (leading to questions about temporal context), etc.), enthusiastic connection with the guest - both infectious for the listener, but most imporantly, infectious for the guest - you draw out the stories and themes without any effort on either your part or that of the interviewees.
I think if you read the Lefsetz Letter youâll really enjoy Bobâs podcast. He has a great ability to really dig deep with people and get you their full story. Sometimes you feel like youâre almost getting too much information, but Bob has a great way of tying every detail into the larger picture - something you almost never get in other interviews. Itâs like Howard on steroids. In places where Howard would loose track or go off on a tangent and you never get to hear the persons answer to a particular question, Bob seems to always make sure to circle back, which I really like. Listening to how much Bob enjoys doing this makes it (for me) that much more enjoyable, and worth a listen just for that. I love his infectious laughs! I also love how skiing almost always gets talked about!Keep up the good work Bob!!
Excellent story-telling Podcast! Great Job Bob!
Im a subscriberIâm a believer
Bob has a very singular point of view on not just music but life itself over the past 50 years. In this initial podcast that voice is nowhere to be heard. Maybe some things are better in print.
Enjoyed the podcast. Finally get to hear the voice behind the Letter that I love so much. Hereâs to the podcast being as successful as the Letter. Keep up all of your great work. You âda man!
Bob, I've enjoyed the newsletter but this format is perfect for you. Your energy is infectious... in the best way. JE
Yes! This is great!
I like this idea. I can listen on my cross country trips and save me eyes! Good fun stuff Mister Lefsetz! NoOne
