Iâm interesting in medical stories, so I really love this podcast! Iâd love it even if Erin and Erin werenât so bubbly and also clearly engrossed in infectious diseases themselves. And the quarantinis and placeboritas?! Hahaha!! So fun! All around great podcast!
For me I find The Erinâs are kinda lacking in their chemistry and banter together. Thereâs awkwardness and too much seemingly nervous laughing with each other but I keep listening to it week after week because I like the information.
I for sure thought this podcast would be boring but it is not! I love learning about all these diseases and the hosts are AMAZING!
So look forward to this podcast and wish new episodes came quicker.
Iâm a physician (albeit not an Infectious Disease doctor) and I totally dig this show. Iâm a surgerino (surgeon who loves true crime...my MFM folks will understand) and this podcast is super interesting, well-researched and entertaining. Iâve learned so many interesting facts!! Thanks ladies!!!
I would love to give this podcast a 5 stars but unfortunately the little inclusions of political bias is really not needed or wanted! The rest of the podcast is amazing!
Love this podcast, informative, humorous & majorly entertaining! The Erinâs make science sexy again.
Im a nurse and this podcast is super fascinating! I love the history and biology plus the Erinâs are totally adorable and hilarious. Def my fave podcast is right now
Well worth your time.
The most amazing podcast to listen to when youâre just dying to hear witty, intelligent, and informative disease talk. Iâ¤ï¸MyFavoriteMurder for letting me know this podcast exists. My most favorite moment listening is when I was with my then 5 year old, in the car. Erin and Erin were explaining that you could google a plague pus thing and my child, who I thought was sleeping, squealed from the back âNO! Momma, donât google that!!â after I sufficiently calmed her, she said âOkay, can we keep listening to that disease podcast again?â My second favorite moment is howErin and Erin have saved my carpool! My husbandâs business partner is an epic tool!! But we live 10 minutes from each other, so when the staff doesnât want to deal with him and my day is done, we ride home together. The podcast has kept him so tuned in that he doesnât really talk to me anymore and itâs pure heaven!!! Thank You!
Started listening and was immediately intrigued! So interesting and thought provoking, engaging, and hilarious. Itâs like MFM but science! Love this and totally recommending to friends. I have super long commutes for work (3 hours one way!) and this keeps me entertained and informed! Very creative and addicting!
As a pharmacist, I love the medical side of our history. I have learned so much. I think all anti-vaxxers need to hear the measles episode. Keep up the great work.
But it is listening to the 2 Erinâs. Alternately funny and yucky I was hooked on every episode starting with the clever quarantinis. These podcasts are wickedly entertaining. If you ever wondered how a flu could kill so many people this is your podcast. Youâll be happy you keep that bottle of hand sanitizer around. A must listen. Totally fascinating. Thanks Erins!
Great content and concept. However, one of the presenters acts like a teenager and constantly, inappropriately laughs. Her comments are unintelligent and it takes away from the podcast. Sorry.
This podcast makes me wish I was a scientist! These women are fun to listen to and very easily communicate complex issues. Iâm a fan!
I have learned SOOOO much from this podcast. That will kill you. But now I have to talk about the "quarantinis". You take to much time talking about drinks. I always skip the drinking parts. And I don't think it's funny because a lot of people died in quarantining. That is disturbing. But I do like you explaining.
I love Erin & Erinâs style of introducing us to the world of disease! I gave this podcast a skeptical try, and am totally hooked. They present the disease in a way that Iâm super into it and can even pull some fun facts out of my hat afterwards!
Only the hosts of this podcasts could make learning about gruesome diseases so thoroughly enjoyable. Each episode is well researched and presented with an appropriate mix of seriousness and fun. Intelligent, funny and entertaining, thank you!!
These podcast are so interesting and well done. Every should listen and LEARN !!!
This podcast is amazing, they cover everything, and have such a good balance between going into the effects of the diseases covered but also the social component. It never feels cold or clinical (even if there are occasional giggles of glee at how horrifically efficient some of these diseases can be), and even if you know almost nothing about science or biology (like me!) you can still learn and understand everything they talk about. Can not recommend enough!
Kept my husband and me entertained on our recent car trip. Can you do a toxoplasmosis episode?
Love love love this podcast!!
I love this podcast so hard it hurts. Even the episodes that are harder to listen to are filled with amazing and entertaining information. Great podcast for science nerds like myself! Also, I think everyone should be legally forced to listen to the measles episode, just so they know what they're risking by not getting vaccinated.
This podcast literally makes me want to quit my desk job and start my education all over again to become an epidemiologist. Fantastic!
...with facts and knowledge and awesome info! Erin and Erin are amazing and I love that theyâre students and I hope they get their dream jobs so we can all collectively be safer in the world. This podcast is amazing!
Informative and entertaining. Highly recommend
Iâve learned more about biology from this podcast then probably any of the biology classes I have taken. Both the Erins do an amazing job researching and presenting the information in an easy to digest way. Although now any time I get sick Iâm a little more worried then before but itâs worth to listen to an awesome podcast like this! Keep it up ladies and wash your hands everyone!
The episodes are so interesting! Anyone who likes well-researched morbid stuff should give this podcast a try.
I was recommended this podcast by a coworker (weâre both microbiologists). I love the content and how simply itâs presented. The hosts are super fun and Iâm so glad that podcasts like this and Ologies exist to bring this super interesting info to the masses!
I forkin love this podcast! Itâs insane and exciting and terrifying! Wash your hands ya filthy animals!
This is a wonderful podcast. Great to listen at work or in the car.
These girls are great, funny, smart, and passionate. I love this podcast, itâs so informative and entertaining!
2 very smart young ladies! Iâam learning something new with each episode. They explain very complicated medical terms with humor BUT are extremely knowledgeable. You donât even have to be a hypochondriac (lol) to appreciate the hard work they put into making this a very enjoyable podcast.
This has quickly risen to be in the group of my favorite podcasts, along with Ologies and My Favorite Murder. Itâs informative, shocking and fun. I love it and I love the Erins! Time for yâall to start selling some merch. I want a TPWKY shirt!
This is a well made and very informative podcast. I particularly love watching and listening about deceases but the way that this women explain it is amazing. I canât wait for the next episode and I want to listen more and more
LOVE this podcast. As a woman in science it is very refreshing to listen to two women be themselves while talking about an interesting topic! They are so relatable to my friends and me when we talk about these kinds of things. I feel they do a good job of keeping the science understandable while also accurately depicting the biology.
I have never enjoyed learning so much. The Erins make learning the biology and such of a disease absolutely delightful and fascinating. Always sensistive to the horror of the infectious diseases they present, they helpfully dive deeply into diseases of literature, rumor and apocalypse. I have no mind for science, and yet, feel like I somehow understand what they are talking about. I have learned so much, and sincerely hope they will never stop-or at least won't stop until all infectious diseases are eradicated. (See! I learned what this term means!)
I love the idea of this podcast but it's hard to listen to the hosts' constant giggling and generally trying to be goofy. I wish the information were presented without their own "I'm shocked! This is gnarly! Describe my face to the listeners!" and instead were presented more professionally. I'm only on episode 3, so it might get better but if it doesn't in the next episode or so I'm out.
Such a bizarre topic to enjoy as much as I do, but I find it fascinating. And The Erins do a phenomenal job setting the stage, giving the facts and leaving you with what you need to know.
Brings light to pathogens and diseases that may or may not be prevalent in todayâs time but wreaked havoc in the past! (Iâm not completely certain Iâm only on episode three) If you love tid bits of dark facts laced with some comedy then this is the podcast for you!!!
I want to like this podcast so much, but the delivery of the hosts is a little off-putting. Their giddy delight in the diseases and death-dealing germs and viruses comes off as insensitivity to me.
Iâm currently pursuing a Masterâs degree in Infectious Diseases remotely through LSHTM. I found this podcast while looking for some auditory reinforcement of what Iâve been reading. So far, theyâve gotten almost everything right. The Erinâs have great chemistry, making this a fun and informative. The only thing I donât love is the length of time Erin W reads from a script. I get that thereâs a lot of content, but I definitely prefer a more conversational format. But all in all, Iâm so glad this podcast exists.
Tried listening to the prion episode cause i like medical podcasts. The book quote and the cocktail recipe was fine, but answering a question about the biology of the disease with a bra ad was very much not. As ad breaks go, that was youtube interrupting a show mid sentence bad. It seems like it might good if you can get past that, but if you have hearing problems or anything else that would make sudden shifts in subject difficult to follow, I would suggest giving this one a pass.
Thanks Ladies and This is Exactly Rightâ¤ï¸
LOVE this podcast. These women are well-educated, smart, and funny!
Not just anyone can mention a devastating, fatal illness like Huntingtonâs Chorea and then giggle, but these girls can. I would like this show otherwise, but they are trying to be light, but arenât funny, so they just giggle randomly usually after a comment like, âitâs always fatal!â Tee hee hee. It gets painful.
Couldnât get beyond the first episode. Too many ummâs. Sound quality wasnât good either. Hope yâall were able to improve it. Not everyone has a voice for radio. I needed to turn up volume to hear but then down due to high pitch voices. Great concept for a podcast though.
Informative. Occasionally a bit over the top, but I find that preferable to overly dry and dull. Worst part is that this show is making me a complete hypochondriac. Any tiny fever and I dread dying in one of these horrible ways.
Update: Watch out for those âpeskyâ prions! After 20 episodes, this podcast is still freaking amazing! It is by far my favorite! There isnât even a close second. I just LOVE it!!! It deserves 10 stars!!! This podcast is simply amazing. The two Erinâs work so well together. They really know the topics they talk about. I am learning a lot about nasty things that I canât even see!The rabies episode gave me nightmares! I saw a rabid dog when I was a child and the subject still freaks me out in my 50âs. Listening to that episode, I learned a lot about my least favorite disease. It was probably way more than I wanted to know about it but now I know how it kills people. Pretty scary if you think about it. Once you show symptoms itâs too late. Keep up the good work ladies, I am loving it!
Fun, entertaining and filled with accurate scientific and medical information with sources cited! The Quarantinis are also fun. Please do one on Measles! Especially with the outbreak going on in Washington.
