I love the Norm Macdonald episode
Am a big fan Iâm not sure why they donât stick to a schedule. This is a great show when they decide to do it.
Love listening to, & hearing about, the âbehind the scenesâ aspects of these peopleâs lives. Such intimate & personal conversations with amazingly interesting people. Very excited to have discovered this podcast!! Thank you WBUR.
I cannot wait to get this podcast each week. So fun to listen
Ava DuVernay is BIGGER than life. Thank you so much for following her and giving this to us. <3 WOW
Really enjoying this podcast. I especially liked the Jimmy Kimmel episode. Geoff Edgers is a very astute interviewer who does his homework and has a great sense of humor. Highly recommended.
One of my new favorites. Great guests and really well done.
Jimmy Kimmel, David Letterman and Howard Stern all in one podcast? Sign me up!I had no idea I was so interested in Weird Al. Very entertaining and informative
Really interesting subjects, good storytelling, and the production is great. Definitely check it out!
Left wing propaganda
I prefer the longer interviews podcasts provide. This will be in my normal rotation. I like how they add interviews of others close to them, even if it is just a snippet.
Kinda like watching the Oscars or his show, so if you like either I guess this is the podcast for you.
I really expected more from a professional entertainer especially when considering how capable podcasters have become.
I will no longer be listening to this podcast. After having Jim Kimmel on as a guest, it's obvious this is nothing more than alt-left, anti-America propaganda. Good luck.
Mediocre entertainer... lousy political commentator ...too much hate. IMHO
That a number of these reviews are simply people who hate Jimmy Kimmel orbother subjects for political reasons. Sad that these opinions, which have nothing to do eithvthe podcast, affect ratings. I found the episodes engaging - theyâre not interviews, but stories. Nice job here.
Jimmy is such a shill, playing the social game of scoring brownie points.
i enjoy your stories but i find your lack of experience to seriously hinder the credibility of this podcast. your perspective on life is completely your own and respectable but there is no need to judge people who believe/feel deeply and perceive things differently than yourself. i hope you protect yourself and learn to listen with your heart. blessed be.
Had hopes for this podcast. Then I saw that you brought Kimmel on. When will you people realize that he doesnât speak for real Americans. His crying is fake. Heâs a total waste of skin.
Who knew. Very interesting. Like the concept of this podcast so I subscribed.
If you want to listen to pushes fake news and division in our country .... then this is the podcast for you!
And so are all the others. Love it!!!
I wouldnât say this the the best podcast out there, but it certainly is nice to listen too once you have listened to your favorites
Jimmy kimmel has something in his pocket for u... oh thatâs cool bc he is on abc. Got it, Apple and Disney hate America and jimmy kimmel is an Unfunny simpleton
We get to be included in snippets of the lives of these people in a rare and engaging way. The hilarious, and yes, odd clips we hear, bring us into awareness of the normal human aspects to which we don't often get to be party. The Weird Al piece has everything. Music, secrets, a character portrait and the creative review of a 7-year-old. If we don't care what a child thinks, a child who ranks the Beatles in order of favorites, what DO we care about?
Loved this podcast-- great interview and Geoff did an awesome job!!! Also, contrary to the previous review, I think the addition of Cal to the podcast truly humanizes the fantastic and other worldly journalist, Geoff Edgers! The child's mind is so pure, and you can sense the innocence of his emotions. Rock On Cal and Geoff!!!~ BrUcE & pAnDa
Fantastic piece! Always liked Weird Al but didnât give him much thought til hearing about how cool and great he actually is. Thank you for giving this listener a cheerful and refreshing change of pace from the typical dribble out there.
Edgers is excellent. The celebrities are fine. But the real hero here is Calvin, who brings a certain piquant worldliness. A je ne sais quoi. Fan club imminent.
But jimmy loves virtue crying
Great podcast. Insightful profiles of entertainers, Great writing, great interviews. You feel like you actually know his subjects by the time you are done. I love the fact that he looks for interesting, offbeat stories instead of the obvious ones.
I adore Weird Al Yankovic. I will listen to just about anything he apears on. Yet I turned this off after 15 minutes. Why? Well, if I'm listening to a podcast with Weird Al, I expect to, you know, HEAR Weird Al. Instead, we get interspersed sound clips, which I get, you want this to be more than just an interview. But there's no interview. There's a one-sentence quote from Al ... then audio of Dr. Demento answering the phone for the podcast narrator? Then Weird Al's wife answering the phone three times asking to call back so she can make coffee? Riveting! Jimmy Fallon's PR rep telling you Jimmy is on the phone? Thrilling! And then, we get the narrator's 7-year-old son telling us who his favorite musicians are? Is this for real? I'm sure the guy's son is a great kid and all, but ... WHO THE HECK CARES?!? This seems less a podcast about Weird Al and more a podcast about who was interviewed for this podcast. Absolutely pathetic. Don't waste your time with this.
Great peak into what makes people tick and their world in the spotlight. Well done!
I really enjoyed listening to the podcast about Ava Duvernay. I learned one thing new about her personal family and professional family. It's important to learn new things and explore new families.
Love this intimate profile of an inspiring woman. Geoff goes deep to understand his subject's background and perspective beyond just the vanilla celeb profile. And the Oprah cameo LOVE!!
The subject of your episode should be Norm, not your limp praise of his work or thin assessment of his career. Off the top of my head, you included four irrelevant and unfunny clips â Norm lost his wallet, his keys, he shaved, and told you you had a billion hours so didnât need an ending â but you failed to use any of those interesting recordings.
Sounds like this is going to be a revealing, interesting podcast.
