I never played D&D but this is such an entertaining ride. Canât wait to grab a d20 and make friends with random, unsuspecting game store patrons...
I found Join the Party because of ARCS. I am in love with both for different reasons. In this case and point, Inaraâs ability to eat as many bagels as myself. Go get some bagels and listen to this endearing gem.
Finally just caught up with this great podcast and figured I would probably leave a rating! If you love good good audio dramas or other bits of DnD actual play media, you will 100% love this!
This podcast was my first actual DnD podcast. I'd listened to Pathfinder and Vampire podcasts before this, so it was a great way to learn the rules of dnd. The bonus was that it's an overall great podcast. Amazing stories and immersive characters. Since listening to JTP I've drowned myself in DnD podcasts, but will always cherish this one. I'll always keep coming back. Love you guys, keep up the good work.
I watched another DnD show but was still kinda fuzzy was on the rules. So I was referenced to this show which explained the rules thru play in the free few episodes. I love the unique twist of this show of blending the traditional fantasy setting with modern elements.
This podcast got me into D&D and now I am looking for someone to play with! I love all the people in this podcast. Everyone has such a fun, quirky personality, and I love the characters. Johnny B. Goodlight is hilarious and uplifting and TR8C is so clueless and adorable, while Inara is relatable and the thousands of people Eric creates are hilarious. His best voice by far is the âJewishâ god voice.
Iâve always been really intimidated by the complexity of D&D, but join the party breaks it down in a way thatâs informative yet doesnât sacrifice story. 100% recommend for anyone just getting into D&D or advanced players alike super fun canât wait to get caught up.
Out of my 3 D&D podcast you guys are my favorite greatest enthusiasm from the characters in D&D history with the best DM ever even been incorporating some of the stuff into our own podcast have my entire gang listening to this
I'm someone who historically has a hard time listening to podcasts. I'll pick them up and love them, but then get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of content there is or get distracted by the other things going on in my life. But Join the Party is different. (Well, mostly. I did make an attempt to listen over the summer awhile back and just. forgot to keep listening but THAT'S ON ME.) I've been listening the last several days, now, and I'm not even caught up. I'm still in arc two, so I can't tell you what to expect after that, though I have a lot of faith in this cast, so I'm sure it's great. But here's what you can expect from what I've experienced so far: a lovely, hilarious cast of party member players who care very strongly about making decisions true to their characters, a wonderful DM who has clearly mastered the balance between letting players take the lead on character choices and weaving his desired plot into the narrative, a whole lot of laughs, some Good Good Friend Content, and so much more. I also really appreciate the LGBT+ rep with Alonzo and Greg, and with Inara, who is a cool gay teen and probably wears a fantasy beanie. No but seriously, as a lesbian, I'm getting oddly emotional while listening even though nothing particulaly distressingly sad has happened (yet). With Inara particularly it's so refreshing to see a gay lady character get to be that but also a character within her own right. Like she's gay but that's not the ONLY thing about her; just goes to show how wonderufl each of these people is at creating intricate characters who are multi dimensional and how much they really care about spreading love and positivity for all kinds of people. I'm not kidding; if you're looking for a fun, well-edited, intriguing actual play DND podcast to listen to, this is it! It's managed to hold my attention longer than most other podcasts I've ever tried to listen to, and I don't plan to stop any time soon. The undying light is definitely with me.
My boyfriend showed me this podcast on a road trip we took together. I started in the middle of pool party after having listened to some of the character and catch-up stuff, and immediately loved it! Iâve been hooked ever since and have been listening during my drives whenever I can. Keep up the amazing work yâall!! Iâll be recommending to all my D&D players
I came here after listening to the Potterless Podcast and boy was it a great choice!! Their beginner episodes were so fun and helpful for someone new to the D&D world. Iâm currently binge listening from the beginning and I never want to put my phone down.
Highly recommended! The hosts and the characters are all delightful.
I currently listen to almost all of the Multitude podcasts. I started with Potterless and it just bloomed into this weekly anticipation of amazing content. Iâm posting this here because JTP was the show I was most hesitant about starting. I was never interested in D&D, and didnât think I would care for it. Thanks for proving me wrong! This show is just some awesome storytelling with game play built in! Itâs like listening to a great audio book. Iâve invested in the character including crying when a character left(trying not to spoil for future listeners). Such an great show!
I listen to a lot of DND pods and this is up there with the best of them. The obvious affection between players characters and the endless imagination of their charming DM set the stage for excellent role playing. I crack up with each episode but love the ways they are willing to get emotional as well. So sorry to see Johnny leave the podcast (totally get it though, do whatâs best for you and your mental health friend!), but canât wait to see what Inara and TR8C get up to next. Alonzo and Greg 4 life!
I swear listening to this improved my game a lot. It has really taught me a lot about the things I can do and how to get the most out of a game. I recommended it to my whole party.
Compelling story, fast-paced humor, lovable characters, and just a good time!
Hey, how are you? Are u a d&d fan. Or a person who doesnât know what d&d is. This fun- filled podcast has many exiting characters and story, has splendid sound effects that are wonderful and over all. Well youâre going to have to listen to find out
This podcast is a lot like good sandwich I just randomly found it and its a delicious snack. (Seriously this podcast is awesome don't ever stop 9 seasons and movie)
Even though I hated Eric Silver in the episodes of Potterless he guest stared in, I came to this podcast because I canât get enough of sweet Amanda McLoughlin. 8 episodes in, Iâve fallen in love with the whole party - including Eric Silver, but begrudgingly ð
I was pretty intimidated to start with The Adventure Zone so I started here instead. The characters are rich and the story is...so creatively deep. The chemistry of the players and the DM is just so good. Sound is ð. And for beginners like me, they do a really good job introducing beginners to this new world.
Just started listening to this podcast after playing d&d for the first time. Itâs totally approachable for those who arenât experienced with d&d, and the production quality is awesome. The hosts are also super fun, creative, and inclusive. Love it!
Iâll admit: Iâm weirdly picky when it comes to actual play podcasts but Iâve been trying to find a new one that I love. (TAZ spoiled me.)Join the Party is perfect. The audio quality is top-notch, storytelling is on point, and everyone does character voices! If youâre new to D&D, then this podcast is also perfect for that. If you listen to the beginner version of Wedding Party, you get a nice explanation of things that confused me when I first discovered D&D and actual play, like checks, classes, and spellcasting mechanics. Give Join the Party a shot. Itâs fantastic.
Love the Multitude Podcast family- they are just absolutely wonderful and have such fun content! Iâve been interested in D&D for a while and listening to this podcast (and Amandaâs journey as a noob) convinced me to just try it! Played for the first time the other day and had a blast! Thank you for the wonderful story and the fun characters!!
I need more episodes! I love all the characters! Would recommend to any nerd!
Fun group, good story telling, perfect balance of comedy/plot/role play/action.
I love everything about this show. It's extremely accessible for new and old player alike (including those of us who can't seem to keep the entire PHB in their brain), very queer, and very fun. The community of fans is also lovely, and reflects well on the brand that the show curates for itself. I can't say enough good things about it.
Been playing 5e for a few years now, but our group only has time to get together once a week. Join the party is a great way to get that D&D fix on the off days. The group has a great sense of humor, a good range of experience levels and relatability, the after party episodes are a fun view to the inner workings of the campaign, and they donât get too bogged down in the numbers outside of the times itâs important for the story. All in all a really fun time!
There's sooo much storytelling and worldbuildig and jokes and rpg in this podcast! And all the gay! Love it~
If youâve always been intrigued by the idea of Dungeons and Dragons, but have never played or had the opportunity to play, this is the perfect way to dip your toes into this world. The characters and the story archs are also very lovable and unique.
After finishing the adventure zone I was looking for a podcast that just as captivating. And Join the Party is just that, a well done dnd podcast. From listen to it you can tell how much effort is put into this podcast and it make for excellent content.
Thank you so much everyone who makes this podcast! It is a truly amazing adventure with perfectly played, well-rounded characters who keep the listeners on their toes for all the crazy situations we donât see coming.
Needs more joe the camel.
This is the first dnd podcast that Iâve been able to tolerate, let alone fall in love with, since listening to TAZ balance and NADDPOD. They stay in character, the audio is professional, the story telling is crisp. The mechanic queues are really thoughtful for newer players. It took me months to find this after getting current on the previously mentioned but this was well worth the wait. Very satisfied.
JTP is so so funny, exciting, and heartwarming!! Everything I want from an adventure and more. The story is fantastic, the gameplay is easy to follow, and the music and sound design are awesome!!This podcast is super bingeable and enjoyable for every minute. Highly recommend.
I happened upon your podcast Iâm 10 episodes in and you guys have great fun and as a relatively newcomer to D&D I appreciate some of the insights with the early episodes. Thanks for the enjoyable show! James
i would die for tracey in a millisecond
Just started, I about 6 episodes in. I absolutely love the Afterparty. Itâs such a cool way of recapping episodes. I always loved D&D but rarely got to play because I was basically the only fan in my small southern town. As a result I havenât kept up much and this is absolutely delightful. Great mix between beginner friendly and not pulling punches during gameplay.
Great podcast. The hosts have great chemistry and the intro theme is amazing.
Godly;this is some quality content
its fun. they know what they're doing. it may a bit too silly for my taste, but then again maybe i need to pull this stick out my butt.
The chemistry between the people playing is fantastic, there's a delightful amount of character depth mixed with consistent goofs, and the world itself is absolutely fascinating. The afterparties are also a nice bonus! I love hearing about their thoughts on what just happened, it's great.
I was referred to this podcast from Spirits Podcast, one of my favorites but JtP is by far the funniest and most entertaining podcast I've listened to to date. My nearby coworkers always look at me curiously when I giggle/snort/outright laugh at my desk while listening to the podcast. The story is interesting, the characters are well thought out but unfold so naturally, and the people are witty and fun.Keep up the good work, folks!
There just arenât words for all the ways I love this podcast. When I first started it. I wonât lie, I rolled my eyes a little at some of it. Boy was I wrong. The characters have me curious, invested and feeling some serious FEELS. The hosts have me wishing they were my best buds. This team is inclusive, genuine, hardworking and clearly genuinely grateful for their fans. You can tell theyâre putting serious work in to make a quality product. All while having fun with it! And, I definitely need to know where this story is going.
Iâve listened to several DND podcasts, and this one is my favorite by a lot. The group has a great dynamic, no one hogs the mic, and the after party episodes are an excellent addition. The DM, Eric, is awesome; heâs really come up with some great stories and NPCs, and he knows the players and their characters really well and incorporates specific things in there for everyone. The players, Michael, Amanda, and Brandon are amazing too. Each one brings a different perspective to the podcast and DND in general. Their character are all very unique and fleshed out, making it easy to tell who is doing what and to get invested in them as individuals. One of my favorite things is that they do what the call the âafter partyâ where they answer listener questions, discuss what happened that week in the campaign, what could have happened, why certain choices were made etc. Itâs fun to learn more backstory and hear this group of friends interact. Overall, absolutely fantastic podcast that will give you lots of laughs, lots of feelings, and lots to think about. Highly recommend, even if you have no interest in DND, itâs still a very fun listen that I think anyone can enjoy.
Absolutely love this podcast! Itâs encouraged me to really reevaluate the way I play and is just a ton of fun to listen to. Everyone has such a good handle on their characters, and even just through the first story arc theyâve grown so much.
I became a Patreon supporter of this show after listening to ONE EPISODE. If the representation and the buzz about JTP wasn't enough to convince me that this is one of the best podcasts on the market right now, the incredible hosts, the diversity of the cast, characters, and fanbase, the super supportive and wonderful Discord community, and all the puns and jokes sold it for me in a heartbeat. Listen to this podcast, and may the undying light be with you!
Ever since I started to look into Dnd, I came across to this podcast. If you are looking for some fun and laugh. Then what are you waiting for!? Come here and join the party! It's just getting started.
Honestly I love this podcast. It is so genuine and wonderful. I swear I recommend this pod on a daily basis to all my friends. The creators make this content so accessible, I love that hey have transcripts for all episodes. They know how to include diversity in their stories from the characters to the monsters and challenges backed by mythology. On top of that, the afterparty brings so much interaction into the content. I love love love this podcast. You NEED to listen!
The cast is just so sincere and invested in their characters, and the DM in the world. The character development is fascinating, the plot is totally wild, and the world-building is mesmerizing. Not to mention the artful sound design/mixing and the dope tunes!! (Also, it made me cry.)
