I was sad when i finished listening and caught up. There are so many little known cases. Keep up the good work Marissa.
Way too many ads
Honestly, this has so much potential. The delivery is awful. The story is delivered in a flat, monotonous, voice which is clearly reading directly from a script. The stories are interesting and yet it still fall asleep.
Excellent and very sad.
I really enjoy this podcast, much to my husbandâs frustration. He doesnât understand the obsession of unsolved cases, but nonetheless they are addicting and the format of this podcast is great and even with updates when some are solved! I binge listen, not sure what Iâll do when I catch up! Anyhow this is a great podcast only complaint is he music which gives me the creeps but goes well with the podcast! Well done!
It's apparent how much research and time go into making each episode of this podcast. There's no judgment about how the missing may have lived their lives; instead, the focus is on how much their family and friends want answers.
I found this podcast around November 2018 and I cannot stop listening! The stories are heartbreaking and I hate these families have suffered their losses but, they need to be told and Marissa gives them a voice! Keep up the great work!
Could you please do an episode on Robert Levinson, the former FBI agent and CIA officer? Heâs been missing for 12 years. Until this day his whereabouts are unknown but it is said that he was captured In Iran and is likely still there.
I love the way Marisa tells the story. She is very thoughtful and thorough when completing her research.
Great podcast wonders does a great job with all there podcasts!!!
Marissa does an amazing job at researching and putting together the episodes. You can tell she really cares about her work and what she does to try and help find the missing. Keep up the great work!
I think the concept of this podcast is good but I donât think the delivery is good, feels like she is rushing to inform the listener in a quick podcast, I felt like it could use more investigation to help understand and get more lead way to help investigators.
This podcast is amazing! Itâs absolutely heartbreaking but Marissa does such a great job at delivering the stories. Sheâs sensitive to the families as well as the listeners, and she definitely portrays herself as the narrator only. You can tell thereâs a lot of research and heart that goes into each episode. These families need someone to help get the stories out there for their loved ones and this is a great way to do it. Each case is as intriguing as the last and if you love a good mystery, even those as devastating as some of these, this should be on the top of your list. My mind swirls trying to figure each case out but mostly, I just pray the families find answers and closure, and best of all, their loved ones. I hadnât heard about most of these cases, even the ones in my home state! Itâs horrible they donât get the media coverage they deserve. Marissa displays the facts very well and with neutrality.
I recently found this podcast while searching about missing people and I really like it. Four stars because I really wish the episode titles didnât say âfound safeâ and âdeceased.â Iâm playing catch up and seeing those results kinda ruins it for me. Otherwise, keep up the good work.
The episodes are literally just the host reading a script in a boring tone.
You can tell Marissa is passionate about these cases. I don't like how Marissa threw Mike Boudet under the bus. But her podcast brings attention to missing persons. Can't hate that.
I have been listening to this podcast from the beginning, and it has improved so much! Melissa does a wonderful job interviewing the families and exploring different ideas for how the person goes missing.
I really enjoy the format of letting the people involved in the case, explain the case. Thanks for shedding light on these cases; hard to believe their are so many that have hardly been investigated.
This podcast could be so much better. The hosts voice is so monotone with no inflection or emotion. The music is almost like silence and plays for way too long in the beginning and ending to where youâre left wondering whatâs going on. The interviews with family, police, etc are way too long and boring. I want to hear these stories but find myself bored to death. She should listen to crime junkies and emulate their music, storytelling, and fast pace.
If I could give zero stars I would. I will no longer support a podcast production company that doesnât support freedom of expression.
I really like this pod cast it is so informative and they are really trying to help people find loved ones or just to get answers to what has happened to them. This is a great pod cast!
The podcast is great but I am unsubscribing because of the networkâs (Wondery) refusal to deal with allegations of serious issues and behavior by another podcast on their network. As a result, I canât support this network. I hope this podcast finds a new network home so I can enjoy it again.
I love this podcast. It has brought it itself value and meaning. Itâs well produced and not boring. Keep them coming!!
Years ago, The Vanished was the very first podcast I had ever listened to. I was hooked immediately by Marissa narrating and stories. Itâs SOOOOO hard to find a voice that is pleasant, intriguing, inviting, and captivating that also narrates well. You keep up the great but unfortunate stories and Iâll keep up the listening. ðð»ðð»Also, thank you for bringing these missing persons back into the light and their cases back into the headlines. Families in these circumstances need every ounce of help they can get and itâs awesome that youâre doing this.
I've listened to every episode, heartbreaking as they all are. One of these reviewers noted the host was "stiff," and I can understand how someone might think that, but I find her serious and sincere. I've learned a great deal about missing persons, how police can help or actually impede finding them, and a lot more about the capabilities of the many sick minds out there.
The host is so boring to listen to. She doesnât enunciate her words and has no type of inflection whatsoever. Really tried to get into it, but after 2-3 episodes I was left wondering how anyone can stand listening to her. Content time is also padded with long, drawn out recordings that donât provide substance to the narrative. Was expecting more out of a Wondery podcast, as every other one Iâve listened to is great! Try a different one.
I really enjoy this podcast and although the host sounds a lot different than other podcast hosts, itâs a positive for me, not a negative. I donât want all my podcasts to sound the same. Great work. Please keep it up.
This used to be an outstanding podcast, but is now, more or less, a podcast about drug addicts and people with poor life choices, who have vanished.
Curb your music breaks down to 5 seconds and have a shorter episode.
I gave this show several chances. Avoid and use your time more constructively.
Marissa does a great job helping the missing. It doesnât matter what the personâs lifestyle is, everyone deserves to be found. This is one of my first podcasts I listened to in 2017 and I still love it. First one I look for on sundays.
ery good, apparently comprehensive stories, thank you, keep up the good work!
Sadly, this podcast can now safely be renamed "The Vanished Drug Addicts." This was such a great podcast, but after today, and yet another junkie, I'm done. It's the same sad story over and over again, and I do feel for their families, but I think we all know they missing loved ones engaged in very high risk lifestyles and made one poor choice after another.
Started at the bottom and worked my way up. Iâve been binging ALL WEEK!!! Love it!
As a journalist, I appreciate all the time host Marissa puts into each episode. She features cases that many of us are not even aware of, and posts updates to cases on her social media platforms. Her interviews are extensive, and you can tell she is passionate about giving family members of the missing their chance to get all the information necessary out to the public. She also gives law enforcement and private investigators their chance to weigh in, which makes for more well-rounded episodes. Great job, and you wonât be sorry if you subscribe to this one!
Love this podcast for itâs true intent of keeping the missing in the light. Well done, always engaging. Keep going, donât stop. They need your voice!!!
Great info and I love the hosts voice but I wish the information was presented in a timeline instead of bits and pieces here and there. It can get confusing.
I was frequent listener until your last episode started playing into fear mongering over vaccines. That doesnât have a place in entertainment and your poor attempt at not showing bias failed. Unsubscribed.
But she sounds like she is reading a book report in front of a elementary class. So stiff and voice is annoying. Needs to loosen up. And enough with the dumb ads. Nobody cares about your yoga pants and toothbrushes. I get it, you have to do ads but not smack in the middle of the podcast. Put them in the end or something.
What an amazingly informative and interesting interview with Dr. Colleen Fitzpatrick! Thank you so much for sharing these stories
What a great podcast. I binged the entire series in about a week, and I feel like an emotional jellyfish. The host is wonderful and she really knows how to interview people. She is also very informed about each case. Love her!!!
I really liked this podcast at first. It was mostly the host giving the story and research etc. But lately itâs been a family or friend giving the whole story. How do we know they are being truthful when they give the details? I feel like the host is relying too much on the family/friend and not doing any real legwork. Itâs disappointing, because if you listen to the original episodes, they are really well done.
Episodes are way too long; Iâd rather hear the host speak more and the family less
Love this podcast, but the family interviews need to be edited and cut down. I much rather hear the hostâs voice than family members reiterating the same thing over and over.
I overlooked the bad audio quality and narration for the earlier episodes because the content was good. At some point the cases became just plain missing cases with interviews of the family members. There ceased to be cases with mysterious or criminal elements. Of course people vanishing without a trace is mysterious to begin with but lately all of the cases seem âthey never came homeâ - thatâs it. Almost an hour of family members talking about how great or loved the missing person was and what the police did/did not do is not something I want to listen to when I listen to a true crime podcast.
Very interesting content and stories but the narrator sounds like sheâs about to fall asleep as sheâs talking.
Outstanding podcast. I appreciate the thought of showcasing a missing persons case that is not getting a lot of media attention. The host is very good and itâs clear she puts her guests at ease for them to tell the story of their missing loved one.I hope for all these families to get answers they so desperately need.
I am relatively new to the whole podcast thing. The Vanished Podcast is one of my favorites. I enjoy all of the missing persons podcasts, and she Marissa does a very good job with the narration. I highly recommend the show.
I look forward to her new episodes. The coverage and details to every case is addictive and makes you want to investigate also. I love this podcast and love the host sheâs amazing!! At the end of every episode I still get goosebumps with the music and the outro... everyone should listen you will be hooked!!
I always look forward to the next episode. I canât say that for most other podcasts.
