Miami Dolphins Tales From The Deep

Following a standout career at Auburn University, Ronnie Brown was selected by the Miami Dolphins as the number 2 overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, making him then-Dolphins Head Coach Nick Saban’s first-ever draft choice. Brown played six seasons in Miami, rushing for 4,815 yards (career-high 1,008 in 2006), averaging 4.3 yards per carry, and 36 touchdowns, including a career-high 10 scores in 2008 on his way to a Pro Bowl selection. Brown is most remembered for his role as the featured back in the Dolphins Wildcat formation, unveiled on September 21, 2008. In that game, Brown and the Dolphins stunned the New England Patriots as Ronnie accounted for 5 touchdowns, including 4 on the ground and his first NFL TD pass. The Dolphins dominated the game 38-13 and the Wildcat was etched in Dolphins lore forever. In the Tank, Ronnie discusses his nervousness regarding the Wildcat, shares a behind the scenes look into how each back earned their role in the formation and how shocked they all were that the Patriots could not handle it. Ronnie also provides hilarious anecdotes of his days running with draft classmate Channing Crowder, as well as his unique friendship with Ricky Williams.
