Pediatrics at the University of Alabama.Working with the pediatric population, Dr. Casazza’s research
interest have evolved into understanding the resource partitioningduring critical periods of growth and development with primaryfocus on the bone fat interface.Krista Casazza obtained her PhD from Florida International
University in 2006, where her research focused on dietary andphysical activity education interventions in adolescents. Duringher training Dr. Casazza investigated the effects of macronutrientmodification (carbohydrate in particular) on reproductive hormones,insulin dynamics and body composition during a weight lossintervention in peri-pubertal African American girls.
