Effect on Emotions
  • It has actually helped me take a step back and look at the bigger picture and say do I actually need to feel this way right now or am I over reacting or under reacting cause it can go both ways. That's what mindfulness has done for me on an emotional state.
Thoughts on Breathing
  • You gotta breathe. I used to find myself especially talking to people that were in a higher position than me in retail. I used to find myself holding my breath a lot and you know that would not help me answer their questions at all because I would have to let my breath go  and then I would start to think about the question they just asked me. It just always made it look like I wasn't there and I didn't know what I was talking about. Breathing during situations and being mindful of that and knowing that you get nervous during those times actually helps you through it especially breathing. I really think that it's common for people to hold their breath back in situations like that.

Advice for Newbie
  • I would say they need to get past the stereotype and the "oh I don't wanna listen to a Guru" stereotype. I think a lot of people are not looking at the benefits but they are looking more at the person who is teaching it to them. The person is just a vessel to bring that information to you. Don't focus on that person necessarily, focus on what you can learn from that. That will take you a lot further than worrying about who is teaching it to you all the time and getting your head wrapped around that.
