EPISODE 128: NW Ladies Hunting Camp
1 hour 11 minutes Posted May 21, 2016 at 5:13 pm.
PM Pacific Time. But today’s podcast isn’t about their TV show. It’s about a super cool event that Candy puts on that helps female hunters learn new hunting skills. The event is called the North West Ladies Hunting Camp--and it’s awesome! The camp offers firearm training for pistol, rifle, and shotgun. You can learn archery, fire starting, field dressing, map and compass reading, backcountry safety, wildlife photography, self-defense, concealed weapon carry, and more. This camp is for the city-slicker who has never been camping or the advanced hunter who wishes to learn some new skills. On this podcast we talk about the camp. Krissy Hay Knox, Bowtech Ambassador, shares her experience being an instructor at last year’s camp. And we hear from Asha Aiello. She’s a relatively new female hunter and she describes the barriers that some women feel about getting into hunting and how this camp can make the difference. Asha is the Tualtin Cabelas Marketing Manager and a major supporter of this Women’s camp. You can learn more about the camp online at www.ladieshunting.com. If you want to attend a camp like this, but can’t make it to this year’s camp or the camp was sold out when you tried to register, send Candy Yow an email and tell her you want to go. Seriously, like fill her inbox up with requests for a camp you can attend. Candy’s email is candy@ladieshunting.com. If you like what Candy and Randy are doing, send them a note. Tell them thank you. And if you are in a position to support their work, give them what you can.

SUBSCRIBE: iTunes / RSS/Stitcher/Podbean/Android Okay friends! On this episode of Gritty Bowmen we hang out with our Central Oregon friends Randy and Candy Yow. Randy and Candy are not “show” names--they’re real names. Randy and Candy have been on the show once before and we had them back again because we like them so much. Randy and Candy are down-to-earth cowboy and cowgirl cattle ranching type folks who love hunting. Together they created a TV show called Extreme Desire TV. New episodes of their show will be shown on the Pursuit Channel the 3rd week of June on Friday evenings at 8:00PM Pacific Time. But today’s podcast isn’t about their TV show.
