Dr Gluckman completed his dental

training at the university of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in1990. After spending a number of years in a general practice hecompleted a 4-year full time degree in Oral Medicine andPeriodontics at the University of Stellenbosch in Cape Town, whichhe completed with distinction (cum Laude) in 1998. He wasintimately involved in the development of the postgraduate diplomain Implantology at both the University of Stellenbosch and later atthe University of Western Cape. He is currently in full timeprivate practice in Cape Town He is the director of the Implant andAesthetic Academy, which is a private post graduate trainingfacility in South Africa currently providing a completepostgraduate training program in Implantology in South Africa. TheAcademy is accredited accredited by The University of Frankfurt. Hehas been involved in Implantology training for 18 years.

 

Dr Gluckman was the author of a

monthly Implantology corner for the South African Dental Journaland is the immediate past president of the South African Societyfor dental Implantology and on the board of the Southern AfricanAssociation of Osseointegration (SAAO). He has served as thesecretary of the South African society of Periodontics. He haslectured extensively nationally and internationally and is a memberof Dentsply/Friadent's Master Speakers Program.

 

His special interests are immediate

placement/immediate load as well as soft tissue aesthetics andperiodontal plastic surgery. Autogenous bone augmentationespecially bone harvested from the palate and three-dimensionalbone augmentation.
